Well, welcome, what can I say. It is better than getting to the store and finding you only thought you had your pants on.
Welcome: or shooting (film) and not taking the lens cap off or uptake on film sprocket.
I prefer to be working midnight shift when we go forward as it's a long night the other way.

Got to thinking about the cameras I've had over the years and thought I'd pose the question - what was the first digital camera you bought?
My first digital was the 1st Generation Canon Rebel, EOS 300D (or DS6041) I bought back in 2003. When it first came out it was touted as the first connsumer-grade digital camera that could be had for under $1000 ($999.00 with kit lens). It has a whopping 6.3 MP sensor and came with a very crappy 18-55mm lens. I think the shooting speed is measured is seconds-per-frame and not frames-per-second LOL. I still have this camera, and even occasionally shoot with it just for old time sake. For just stuff you want to paste to Facebook it's not too bad actually.

Got a samsung 128gig on sale at Walmart electronics for under 34$.so far it is good. walmart also has a 200 gig in photo for 70$
I watch the weekly ads of Walgreens I think they have a 16 gig on sale this week for $4.99 0r 5.99, Biglots use to have SD cards but lately just thumb drives.
Just got a free 32 gig card from Micro Center from a mailing
I take many photos just to record a place I have visited at a time, Not because I think the subject great but I want to record my/our trip ect. To provide memories not entries for a contest or a means to make extra money.
Had the same bad weather problem here last week. We call it the four seasons all in one week or one 24 hour period. LOL last week we had an ice storm which made for some nice photo ops plus a foggy few days later then a 70+ day. Now back to a dreary winter day.
I have always feared losing one or more cards after taking photos, next problem how to store them, I lost an unused 16 gig card at Disney World while on vacation by carrying it in my jeans pocket. I like the small hard plastic storage case some cards come in but the are not all the same thickness or size, no way to store them, a ziploc bag ins't a good long term solution. On my last vacation I was in Myrtle Beach SC and visited the Ripley's Aquarium I picked up a souvenir token book it's about 6"X4.5X0.5" with 4 pages that have space for 24 tokens/medallions/ or SD cards. Works great but now if I lose it I have lost them all LOL. Cost $5.00
