Got to thinking about the cameras I've had over the years and thought I'd pose the question - what was the first digital camera you bought?

My first digital was the 1st Generation Canon Rebel, EOS 300D (or DS6041) I bought back in 2003. When it first came out it was touted as the first connsumer-grade digital camera that could be had for under $1000 ($999.00 with kit lens). It has a whopping 6.3 MP sensor and came with a very crappy 18-55mm lens. I think the shooting speed is measured is seconds-per-frame and not frames-per-second LOL. I still have this camera, and even occasionally shoot with it just for old time sake. For just stuff you want to paste to Facebook it's not too bad actually.

A Canon Sure Shot piece of shit. Made me realize that, in order to get acceptable images, I needed to upgrade.

A Nikon E995, only 5MP. Of course, not as good as the Pentax K-1000 film camera I had (and still have).

The first digital camera I ever used wasn't actually mine. It was an Apple QuickTake 100 and I was using it as part of a research study I was involved in back in 1995. The first one I owned was an Apple QuickTake 200, followed by a Kodak DC-280, Nikon D100, Nikon D200, and Nikon D800e. We've come a long way.

The first digital camera I bought was for my wife. I was going to get her the Nikon Coolpix 5000 but she didn't want me to spend that much which was $699. So I bought her the Coolpix 2100 for $200. A year or so later I bought the display model (which was the same one I looked at a year earlier) and it was the Coolpix 5000. It's nice but the frame rate when shooting RAW is about 30 seconds per frame. My first real digital was the Nikon Df in 2013.

A Kodak 120, it came with two 4mb flash cards. This was about 1996 timeframe. "KODAK DC-120 - 1996. 1280 x 960 pixel CCD. ISO 120. Shutter 16 to 1/500 second. 38mm to 114 mm autofocus f/2.5 zoom lens. First 1 megapixel camera to break the $1,000 price barrier. MSRP $799."

Here are two photos I think are from the Kodak 120. The top one may not be as looks very clear.
