I have PSE 2022 and still like it. Last year I bought a Canon R7 and couldn't get the software to 'see' the R7's images. I called Adobe and the tech downloaded a plug in and I've had no problems since. Adobe was helpful and took 5 minutes to get me going....

As someone mentioned above, the sun has been very active recently causing some to believe we'll reach maximum solar activity soon. The sun has a 11 year cycle from minimum solar activity to very active solar activity with a lot of sun spots. We had a solar minimum in 2018 - 2019 and the expected maximum solar activity was expected to be in 2025. If you check www.spaceweather.com it will show sunspots on the left side of the home page. It comes out daily. They also send out a subscription texts to alert you when weather satellites when send warnings when a burst of energy (CME) is blasted out from the sun. It has allowed me to catch the aurora borealis in Colorado on a couple of occasions.

Here's a couple of my shots from last Monday. The numbers on the first image are the number of the sunspots as they appear on the sun. Www.spaceweather.com has a daily listing of sunspots as they appear on the face of the sun as numbered by scientists. We only had about 55% totality here in Colorado. Both were shot with a Canon R7, a 100 - 400 mm "L" lens with a Thousand Oaks Optical solar filter.

I shot this with my Canon R7, a 100 - 400 mm "L" lens, and a Thousand Oaks Optical solar filter. The numbers refer to the sunspots visible. Scientists number sunspots as they appear on the face of the sun. You can find the current number at www.spaceweather.com. The solar info is on the left side of the home page. Not quite orange as some have found.

I have two Canon APS-C cameras, a T6s and a 60D modified for astro photography. I contacted Canon's Help line by email and asked if a filter made for older APS-C cameras would work in the R7 body. I received two replies from two different people that told me to use a screw on filter on the end of my lens. From the responses from both people, I had the distinct impression they had no clue what I was talking about.

Anyone out there in UHH Land know if you can snap a Hydrogen alpha filter into the body of a R7? Thanks!

If you're into that sort of thing, visit the National Atomic Museum in Albuquerque, NM. It's located on the S/E corner of the Albuquerque Airport. They have examples of virtually every atomic weapon the US has built. Quite the collection of weapons. Out back of the building they have examples or several aircraft that carried nuclear weapons. Included is one of two B-52s built that never flew for SAC. They were diverted to the Air Force Special Weapons Group at Kirkland AFB. They were used for atomic bomb tests in the Pacific and Nevada.

I have a Lightning Trigger (brand name) and have been happy with it. I'd be interested in hearing your comments if you go with MIOPS.

Wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the lightning triggers available for storm photography. I have a Lightning Trigger that I bought several years ago. Since I bought this unit there's been several new ones come out on the market.

Photo #1- Lightning over Keenesburg, CO last summer. Shot with a Canon R with a 17 - 35 mm lens and the Lightning Trigger.

Photo #2- I was waiting for the after ball game fireworks when Mother Nature provided some of her own. This is Coors Field in downtown Denver in July, 2015. Shot with a Canon 5D2 with the same lens and trigger.

Any one used any of the other triggers?

50ish years ago, motorcycles were mandated to run with their lights on as a safety measure, to make us stand out in traffic. With most cars now having DRLs, our safety advantage is gone

Newer motorcycles have three lights. The regular headlight and two lights down by the foot pegs. Three points of light make it more visible like they did with railroads years ago with three points of light.

I'm a driver's education instructor and I encourage driving with lights on day or night. If you have an older vehicle, simply turn on the lights when you start the engine. You can see a car without lights on 1/4 or a mile away, a car with headlights is visible 1/2 mile away. (That's on a sunny day.) It's not a Facebook thing, it's being visible in traffic.

Yesterday I posted a photo from my deck of the snow fall from the previous night. Here's a shot from this morning. You can see the snow is piled higher... The TV weather is saying this morning that by Tuesday it will be up to 60 degrees. That's Colorado for you!

This is my deck this morning. It started snowing with real big flakes last night about 9 pm. Currently I have about a foot on my deck with another wave of heavy snow tonight. I guess no grilling anything tonight!

These Heritage Flights are great with combinations of new and old fighters. I believe D-M AFB is where the varied participants practice for the coming air show season.

I use Photoshop Elements 2022 and had no problems until I upgraded to a Canon R7 camera. The software wouldn't recognize the images. I called Adobe's customer support and the agent got the plug in loaded in about 5 minutes. No problems since then!

My brother worked as an administrator for a community college in the San Francisco Bay Area. The school ordered all of the administrators to obtain a Technician Ham License in case the 'big one' hit the Bay Area and wiped out cell phone communications. I've been a weather spotter for years (before cell phones were available) to report what we were seeing in eastern Colorado. Not only getting a license but obtaining a mobile radio (2 meter) and an exterior (or mobile mount) antenna for greatest range would be an excellent idea. Learning morse code is NOT necessary unless you intend to obtain an advanced license. There's tutorials on You Tube to help with studying for a license as well. Depending on where you live there's probably amateur radio groups to help study for the test. Good luck!
