I had some growing in front of my house in Panama but I never bothered them because I was told that they had to be properly roasted before you could handle or eat them because of poison. Nice photos.

That has always been my favorite Mercedes. A friend had one in 1958. Nice!

We took a tour of Colon, Panama and came across this old building which we thought might be an abandoned textile warehouse or something. Not abandoned at all. It is a fully functional 3rd world prison. You can bet there are hard core cases here and there are no extra creature comforts to spoil the dregs of society in Panama. If you zoom in on several windows you can get a feel for the prisoner life and some of the dwellers visible. The nicest part of the place seems to be the high tower for guards to draw a bead on escapees.

I was in Panama in the early to mid seventies and lived near Colon (Coco Solo). At that time I was friends with the Chief of Police of Panama and the bad prison was on the island of Isla Coiba which is now a vacation area. I don't remember those in the photo but it has been a few years since I was in Colon. Planning to go back before long.
Thanks for the photos.

When I was in the Army and going through Special Forces Intelligence training my issued camera was the Leica M3 with three lenses starting with the 35mm and as I remember the standard was a 50mm. The longer lens was the 135mm. I always liked that camera.
In Vietnam I carried a Pen EE half frame.
That was a long time ago as I retired in 1978.

I have been thinking of the possibility of the fighter pilot becoming incapacitated.

I was in the Army and made a free-fall parachute jump from one of the Blackbirds when I was in Special Forces.

Your captures are great, the exposures are perfect or darned close.

It looks like there's some kind of power dome on the hood. Original? After market? US 64 Fairlane could be had with a 427, called the Thunderbolt. I don't know but I suppose that means it could have a 390 too. Isn't it strange that there are more Thunderbolts around now than Ford made?

If you are interested in buying one, I have one that I would sell. I bought it for times when I didn’t feel like lugging around my Fujifilm X-T2. I’ve used it a couple of times. It’s in like new condition. Purchased new at B&H.
I’ll sell it for $375 with an additional battery and battery charger (the camera does not come shipped with a charger). Plus shipping.
Send me a PM if interested. Rich
