Hello everyone

My Dad, John Eccles, used to enjoy spending time on UHH.
He passed away overnight on the 26th December 2019 at home, age 82.
There's a website here with a little more info and a few pictures of him:
https://john-arthur-eccles.muchloved.com/

I just wanted to say Thankyou to you all for your company, camera advice, fun and banter - he enjoyed reading and posting here.

His most recent post was when he had been to the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland, the town where he lived.

His photo hobby included digital photos and having scanned all his old prints which makes an extensive library. Over 150,000 photographs across five different computer hard drives, twenty shoeboxes full of prints and an online Google Photos archive with several hundred thousand photos more!

In his honour I will also follow in his footsteps, taking more photos than anyone could possibly ever look at

All the best. Next time you have a drink in hand, please raise a glass to my Dad.
Thankyou again.
Andrew (Son).

I never have a problem with Paypal, it could be that I always use a credit card when using this method of payment.

Thank you for your observant response, I actually live in Leyland and traces of the factory can be seen everywhere.
Leyland Trucks are still built in Holland at the main plant are in Eindhoven. Cabs and axle assemblies are produced at its Westerlo plant in Belgium. Some of the truck models sold with the DAF brand are designed and built by Leyland Trucks at its Leyland plant in England.

I visited this Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland (my home town) recently. It was an open day with lots of stalls selling various items. Unfortunately due to poor weather, the organisers were not able to use the exterior so the venue was rather cramped for space. however, I did manage to get a few photographs without too much clutter.

Leyland Lion Omnibus 1927, still used for excursions.

Where did our President run to? It wasn’t televised here. Are you sure you are not talking about the cowards that spoke behind his back?

He simply got on the helicopter which was parked near the venue and flew to AF1.

Cry Bay Trump runs away early from Nato Conference when he realises that all the other leaders are taking the piss out of him
Here in the UK There has been hardly any coverage of Trump's visit to this Nato conference, the only news item I saw was Melania visiting a school and refusing to eat a mince pie! (Tradional English fruit pie often eaten at Christmas time)

This makes a good read:

When I removed a Sony SDXC II G 128GB card from my Nikon D850, I noticed a tiny piece of plastic hanging from the side of the card with the double pins. With magnification, I can see that it was a divider between pins (See photo). The card is 18 months old. It has always gone into the camera and my computer without problem.
The card seems to function OK in the camera and my computer. Will it be OK, or is it a problem waiting to happen?
Thanks.
Bruce Joseph

I never remove my SD cards from the camera, therefore I have never had a problem like this.
It is not necessary to remove SD cards ever!

Here in the UK we copied this idea from the US a few years ago. Now it has little meaning as shops constantly discount goods at this time of year up to and after the New Year.

Lovely set of photographs with lots of Italian atmosphere. In the background of the fourth photograph, there is a perfect example of a US tourist!

From the Microsoft web site download the operating system on to a USB drive, this needs to be at least 16gb.
Install your new SSD into the PC, insert the USB and the OS will be detected and installed, just follow the instructions and this should take an hour or so.

Here is the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
