Hello everyone
My Dad, John Eccles, used to enjoy spending time on UHH.
He passed away overnight on the 26th December 2019 at home, age 82.
There's a website here with a little more info and a few pictures of him:
https://john-arthur-eccles.muchloved.com/I just wanted to say Thankyou to you all for your company, camera advice, fun and banter - he enjoyed reading and posting here.
His most recent post was when he had been to the
British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland, the town where he lived.
His photo hobby included digital photos and having scanned all his old prints which makes an extensive library. Over 150,000 photographs across five different computer hard drives, twenty shoeboxes full of prints and an online Google Photos archive with several hundred thousand photos more!
In his honour I will also follow in his footsteps, taking more photos than anyone could possibly ever look at
All the best. Next time you have a drink in hand, please raise a glass to my Dad.
Thankyou again.
Andrew (Son).
Sorry for your loss Andrew. I'm glad you had photography to share with each other.
May you find comfort in memories. I lost my dad in '70, there are still times when I would like to be able to talk with him. May god Bless!

Sorry for your loss. I lost my dad, Dec. 28th 1989. I still miss him. I lost my mom in 1967. I really don't remember her. I was eight. I'll raise a toast to your dad today.

Sincere condolences to you and your family.
Sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing the great photo.
Sorry for your loss Andrew, your Dad gave me some great advice on my recent trip to England. His posts were always interesting.
Cheers to John!!
Darn, sorry for your loss.
I’m sorry for your loss, Andrew.
Reading your comment about the volume of your Dad’s photos is prompting me to get to work organizing my “collection”. I wouldn’t want my children to miss out on the “masterpieces” I’m sure the current hodgepodge contains😊
