I live and work there. I live the city. I’m used to the traffic, buses, trains, taxis, yelling, hot dog stands, bustling, and even the occasional nice person trying to sell Rolex watches, Tiffany diamonds, break dancing and loud radios. JUST KIDDING!
It is a great city!!!
It is a great city but we no longer feel safe going there. Kudos to you for being able to live and work there. I have lots of great memories there, my grandparents lived at 470 West End Ave, then on 36 East 36th. From what I can see now they are very high-rent districts but my grandparents were blue-collar workers.
I ran 3 NYC Marathons in the 90s when Rudy was Mayor and the Yankees were hot. Nothing like running the 5 boroughs, I have some great memories from the Marathon that is the best in the world.
