The phone rings , its a buddy and wants to head out the next morning and get some shots of the sun coming up over a lake, with ducks etc.
I charge the batteries, format the cards, go down my check list making sure every thing I need is in the bag. Everything is set but that night ,
I am very restless all night almost no sleep .
A few days later I get a call to shoot some dogs at a AKC meeting Again I get everything ready the night before. This is a paying job
and I can hardly sleep. Thinking did I for get anything, what If the camera has a problem etc.
Then I get a call about shooting a religious ceremony , this is something if I screw up, it cant be fixed, just like a wedding.
I have 2 cameras loaded, 7 batteries charged. 6 memory cards formatted . Everything on the check list is in the bag. Im ready to go.
I dont sleep at all, 3 AM and Im still awake. Though I know IM ready I just can't sleep the night before. I worry if I screw up, if both cameras malfunction, the batteries all die. a lot of stupid stuff.
Anyone else have anxieties like this and how did you get over them?

Actually one of the videos i found tested a couple of options and fishnets stretched tight over the lens seemed to work well.
Tiffen also make digital filters which can be used standalone or in lightroom finalcut and others (dfx).
trying to find something which doesn't make you watch a video is quite hard.

A few notes about the Tiffen Pro Mist family
Warm Pro Mist filters: If you shoot transparency film, with a custom white balance or with the factory presets, you might want to consider using the Warm Pro Mist filters. For just about every other process it is easy to control the warmth of image tone with a custom white balance or in post production, so I tend to recommend post production tweaks for RAW stills shooters.
Regular Pro Mist filters: these deliver a slight lift or fogging, that has an instant low contrast look. If you want the lightness and shadow lift, then the original Pro Mist range of filters are for you. However there is more apparent strength to the filtration than there is with Black Pro Mist Filters. The word ‘mist’ is in the title for a reason and it is obvious with regular Pro Mist Filters 🙂
Black Pro Mist filters: For just about every digital application, I’d recommend the Black Pro Mist filter. It will make your heart sing when you view your pictures on the back of the camera. If you think the effect is too much, it definitely is, so choose a lighter grade. My advice is to be subtle. When I am shooting portraits I am not looking for the Instagram effect. I want to alter the optical quality and resulting digital file in a gentle considered way that will look amazing in print.
A note about grades: Pro Mists filters range in strength from 1/8th to 3 with 1/8th having the least effect and 3 having the most effect. For Black Pro Mist filters ⅛th gives a look that makes you ask “Is there a filter on that shot or not”? ¼ grade is more obvious, but to the non professional, a shot taken with a ¼ Black Pro Mist filter will look natural. ½ grade is obvious to everyone that some diffusion has taken place and is the best selling by far. Grade 1 is a statement, 2 delivers the look of a 70’s erotic movie and 3 is just too much for anyone.
This is mostly a people thing , it smooths and softens skin and removes wrinkles.

The friend is proficient in just about everything so probably brass, clarinet, guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano etc...I think I will have my pick. Just going to shoot as many as I can and see what happens. I probably would have just thought to keep moving from instrument to instrument but you made a good point...I need to find my perfect lighting and then shoot all of those "metal" instruments in one set and then move to the "duller" instruments so as to change the lighting for those. Putting myself out there to seem ignorant but what do you mean "Shoot tethered if you can, or chimp your camera's display with this aspect in mind" I would really like to understand this in layman's terms if you don't mind lol?

I have bought quite a few things from Amazon in other countries. There were several English TV shows that were not shown in their entirety in the USA, but I found them on the English Amazon site. Last night, I finished watching one season of a French Agatha Christie series, all that's available here. Going to the French Amazon, I found all the other seasons available. The USA uses Region 1 DVD code, and most of Europe uses Region 2. I had no trouble playing the English DVDs in my DVD player, so the French should also work.
I noticed a major mistake in the episode I watched last night. A man said that he had gold coins worth 30,000 Euros. The show was set in the 1960s, and Euros didn't come about till almost forty years later. One thing I liked about the final episode of Season 1 was the Facel Vega driven by the French detective. You don't see many of those.
