I was stunned when my wife gave me a d3400 kit for Christmas. I had not used my old d50 for over 6 years since the kids left, and was not even sure where it was. I did a bit of research and was determined to get back the knowledge of photography I had learned on film. I was NOT going to be a "green dot auto shoot guy"!! I have been having a ball. Today I found UHH and I feel like another world has opened for me (a bit dramatic I know....). So I wanted to thank you all in advance for your patience and helpfulness as I explore this all over again.

I have added a couple of my first efforts. The first is PP, all I really did was remove some partial leaves that were a distraction and then cropped. The second was first day out of the box in Deerfield Beach, FL, and the last one, while not an interesting subject, was me playing with the depth of field and bokeh with the aperture setting. NONE of these pics were taken on auto.... Be kind, I'm a bit envious and intimidated by the d850 and FF cannon people.
