I am fortunate to have a D500 for my prime camera. As a backup I kept the D7200. When the D7200 is on the shelf, should I remove the battery or does it matter.

Well, the sun still rises in the East and the meta data says 07:31 AM, early morning light.

Went down to Sarasota to catch some birds in flight. Lots of birds, here are a few. Early morning light took some color correction to get it right. Ibis still a little dark.

Hello again. The first time I responded I was at the airport so as soon as I got to the motel I got out the 500 and the battery grip. Actually I thought maybe I got it mixed up but by golly, I’ve got the grip on the d500, stepped outside and took some vertical pictures with the BBF on the grip and everything works. I have no answer as to why it fits but it does and it works and if I was home I’d send you a picture. RMJ

I was surprised it worked on both the 7100 and the 500. I just didn’t read the book, tried it and it worked.

I have the Pixel Battery Grip from Amazon. Got it for my 7200, it works fine and now works fine on my d500. Two for one. I'd only use Nikon batteries, I had a 3rd party battery, once. Stick with Nikon.

Well, I've been traveling the world since my d90 and I'm up to a d500. My opinion, Tamron 16-300, 10-20, a tele 1.4 and a tripod that will fit in your largest suitcase. A remote cable release and a flash. Lots of places in Europe don't allow flash but some do and it does get dark there at night. Don't drink the water and remember the ice in the glass is local water.

Well, I'm 81 so my d500 and I will ride off into the sunset together, with my backup 7200 tagging along.

I used a Tamron 16-300 on my d7200 and have moved it over to the d500. Been all around the world with it.

Nope. Even if you use the printer software, it will only show jpeg or tiff available. LR and PS have no way to get out of RAW to the printer, that is a Photoshop function not in the RAW process. Now if you know a way I'd be interested. Eh?

That's why I'm asking, if you have more pixels to reproduce, it seems to me that would require more ink. But if you are using 300 ppi, max for ink jet, maybe it doesn't matter how many pixels are on the paper.

I use a smaller Canon, iP8720 and what I found out was you HAVE to use their software to get a good print. It's free. When I use the PS print mode, the pictures come out darker, as I wrote about a few months ago. It's possible to increase the brightness in print process but it's a guess as to how much, but usually 50+. So I use the Canon software and all is well. Also as noted earlier, DON'T use off brand ink.
