Wow! I have the same problem with my car finance company but if they somehow think I'm 3 months behind, they might repossess the car....
When I used to write paper checks, I always had the canceled check to show payment. How do you prove payment when you pay electronically?

After you've paid online, there is a new "recap" webpage, confirming the account, date and amount of payment and other info. I always do a "save as" and keep the digital copy in the corresponding folder on my computer. You could also print out the page.

Thanks for the link! Some very nice autumnal and winter train images. A bit different from those classic b/w images of O. Winston Link! Another Hogger wondered where the images were taken. From the markings on a couple of train engines with "Buda Pest," probably many images were taken in or around Hungary, the photographer's native land.

In a Google search, I found a number of links, one being: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/escape/article-8908859/Photographer-Tamas-Rizsavis-stunning-pictures-trains-epic-European-landscapes.html

The backstory is that Tama is himself an train engineer driver and also a photographer who travels around Europe looking for fantastic angles and landscapes of trains.

Very lovely images combined with some editing "tricks."

Best wishes for the sale of your Leica!

The Fuji 6x9 MF camera brings back great memories. The original Fuji(ca) GL 690 model was all metal and with a 100mm lens weighed a ton! I think the camera design was based or similar to the US military 70mm roll film camera which has similar size and ergonomics but in olive drab. I always wanted one but got a Fuji instead. Later models had fixed lenses, normal and both wide and telephoto. My outfit had the original three lenses and an accessory finder for the 65mm wide angle. Later models and there are quite a few were part plastic, resulting in a lighter camera. By changing the pressure plate, one could also use 220 film which might not be so readily available today. Fantastic quality. Later on, I shot 120 transparency film and had the images scanned. The film area is also 3:2 format, similar to a 35mm frame.

It's sad!
I don't care how puffed up you are about your own excellence as a photographer, (pro or not), it can't be a good thing to downgrade someone else's work with snarky comments. You know who you are. You don't care that we know who you are....

That's all. I truly feel like I have not stepped on any toes that did not deserve it.
To the rest of you, I will keep looking at and enjoying your photos.

Totally agree! How about snarky comments about cameras and gear that are not the latest or mirrorless?

My wife and I had a custom photo lab in NYC's "Photo District" for 40 years. We normally used Kodak, Ilford and Agfa pre-mixed chemistry. Once in a while, we also used US military surplus Kodak chemicals which were usually
in 1-gallon cans, mainly D-76, Microdol-X and Dektol. We would do A-B tests with these and all were of equal quality as current products. If the powder is white or even slightly beige, then they should be good. I would never-the-less do a 5 or 6" clip test on a few frames of film as a test. Fixer usually lasts forever! When mixed, film should clear in a fresh fixer for 5-8 minutes or so. Be sure to properly agitate your developing tank(s).

Liquid developers were long-lasting in full, glass bottles but not so much in plastic containers of recent vintage. Rodinol, a popular Agfa liquid developer that a number of photogs requested would oxidize and turn to a dark
brown color if kept too long. As the working solution was highly diluted: 1 part concentrate to 25, 50 or 100 parts of water, a fresh supply of it was necessary. We often used a can of inert gas to fill the bottle to keep out oxygen.

Best of luck! Be well! Ed

Yes, we have lots of "kills" around here.

Here's an old story from 1996 about PETA, the animal rights group, that wanted the NY State town of Fishkill to change its name because of the "kill" suffix. They claimed it conjured up the imagery of violence, etc. Little did they know that "kill" was Dutch, as we know, for "stream" and used in many towns' names in the Northeastern area.

What a bunch of idiots! See: http://edition.cnn.com/US/9609/06/fishy.name/

Here in midtown Manhattan, NYC, the cannabis stores are proliferating so much that they seem to be on every other block!

Let's see if these businesses can thrive legally. Also, these stores attract robberies! I wonder why!

If you don't sell the whole package, I would be interested in the 28-300mm F3.5 Nikkor.

Thanks for your consideration. Be well! Ed

Personally I do not consider a full-frame camera as a "bridge camera", even one which has a single lens (ie. a non-interchangeable lens). To me, a bridge camera has a smaller sensor and can zoom out. But maybe others do consider those as "bridge cameras" though the Sony RX10 is much heavier than the RX1.

The Sony RX10 IV has a 1″ sensor with dimensions of 13.2 x 8.8 mm and a sensor area of 116.16mm. This is smaller than a Four Thirds or APS-C size sensor but its larger size makes the image quality superior to the smaller 1/2/3" or 1/1.8" sensors of "true" bridge cameras.

Canon 7S ... altho no need to hope and pray for Canon to go that way when I can already choose between the Sony a7-C (new) or the Olympus Pen-F (used). And acoarst, the Fuji X-Pro series is quite retro, but I don't happen to have any lenses for that...

I vote for the Canon 7S too! A digital version would bookend my current 7S. I also love my Fuji X-Pro 1 and its baby brother, the XE-1. Both of these cameras have several later versions.

If you are desperate to use and reinstall the software then there are several options:

a. Post everywhere in other forums offering to buy someone else's unused software with a key. I used this method to obtain a scarce Nik Software package with "Control Points" dedicated to Nikon Capture NX2.

b. Google, using this "Best activation keys for FocusTune software Windows version." It may be semi-ethical but you did pay for the product once.

c. I looked on eBay for pre-owned software and yours was not offered for sale. In the past, I've looked for and successfully found a "new" unused with the activation key for a photo editing program called "Picture Publisher" that I cut my teeth on before PhotoShop had layers!

d. I saw a blurb somewhere that suggested using AI to find a solution.

Desperate times call for desperate actions.

(FocusTune & LensAlign) A few years back I purchased these two products. Focustune is a piece of software that requires a serial number to install. I seem to have misplace mine and cannot get hold of the original author. I don't think they offer it anymore. Can anyone shed light on how I can install and use this software again. If I just knew the format of the serial number I could do a "regex" search on all my files and folders and possibly find mine. i.e. : How many alpha-numeric characters and in what format? Thanks to anyone who may help. SteveH

Steve!

I did a Google search for FocusTune and in just about every entry given, both FocusTune and LensAlign seem to be mentioned together! Could the 2 software packages have merged? I would direct your question to LensAlign and see if they can help.

There's also a link to this:

It depends on the party organizing the event. Income taxes are due by their date and as long as the returns are postmarked properly, then you are OK. Years ago, my wife and I used to go to the main Post Office at 34th Street here in Manhattan around 11 PM to drop off our returns. There were thousands of people coming and going. Some years there were promotions or free coffee or something being given away in front of the stairway into the PO. There were always several local TV stations broadcasting from the PO and getting remarks from the many patrons filling out their returns at the last minute. The Post Office would always cancel your returns with the April 15 date even if you were a little late! One year, I was photographed by the NY Post newspaper and appeared on the cover page, standing in line at one of the windows to buy stamps! But electronic filing killed the party!

However, banks love it when your payment comes late and they can charge you a late fee even though you sent the payment with time to spare! Someone in the government proposed that the date canceled by the PO should be the correct date for payments and receipt of documents. But that was killed by the banks and others receiving payments. Online banking and kiosks have solved that problem.

This is Gullfoss in the "Golden Circle" Iceland. Nikon D850 with Tamron 15-30 f/8 1/4000 ISO 2500. It was a cloudy day and very windy, I had to hang onto the rail and take the pic with one hand. To me the water looks blown out. Any suggestions?

ggttc!

Here's my take! Nice image, detailed as you can see the people along the left side road leading to the ledge above the water in the middle-ground area when magnified. Usually when taking waterfall shots, photogs like the "cottony" almost detailless effect when using a slow shutter speed to not freeze the water's movement. Overall, your image, to me appears a little flat. I feel the image needed a little brightening and a little contrast. Using Nik Software's "Control Point" tool in Nikon's older Capture NX2 program, I lightened the left side and also the central highlight area of the flowing water to draw the eye to that area.

Just my 2 cents! Be well all! Ed

Orphoto and all!

After reading Hip Coyote's OP, I thought I would Google "Audio Notes" and found as a Nikon user, this link to a Nikon Z9 article from its manual about this feature:

https://onlinemanual.nikonimglib.com/z9/en/08_voice_memos_01.html

Old articles from DP Review and Nikonians mention a few other cameras that have this feature: Canon 1D and Nikon D2X. If one researches, other cameras with this feature are available. In another article, a Z6 was mentioned as well.
