I am asking the UHH friends to help me answer one basic question. So far I have spent hours searching for a new lap top and with the help of one member I got the idea - selection done , credit card is shivering.
Those of you who are married know who is asking me this question.

I am not a photographer (all my pictures are lousy) and I do not do any Photoshop edit), but I enjoy looking at UHHs shots.

My camera is Nikon 7100 so its quality deserves good 4K review, BUT all the pictures from e-mail, F-book and even UHH postings are less than 4K quality , right ? Unless I ask that individual shots are sent to me compressed/reduced, I actually will not need 4K, correct?

So would you let me know what else do I get in the 4K? It will help me to justify the extra $$ spent. PS: I do not watch movies nor play the video games. Maybe there is a source of quality photographs to see.

OK...if I understand the discussion .....and I am having Nik 7100 to use = 20MP .... I will not see the stunning difference between my existing screen 1366x768 (15") and 4k 3840x2160 (27")? And all the monitors in this size are just a sale gimmick?

I am not sarcastic. I understand that bigger size screen & bigger distance will provide better perceived picture. And I respect everybody's experience in this area ( I do not have much by myself)

I am not trying to beat the dead horse, but I am trying to get somewhere.

1. I do not have lot of data need ! >Pegasus
2. I can not have a big screen TV-> min TV 4K size is (I think) 40"
3. I think 27" monitor is what I need (for the room size/distance from screen)
4. Say, I do not have any laptop to make it clear & easy.
5. I think a laptop with 4K screen is way expensive & screen too small. So, separate monitor is the solution
But I will need a matching laptop or desktop with compatible guts =graphic card
6. I hope B&H will be cheaper than retail (like BestBuy)

So can you look at it once more? Yes I have learned already : If you are not into 'gaming', you don't need the fastest refresh rates...you want IPS switching, good contrast ratio, internal speakers <-no need

TriX thank you . I did research a bit on monitors ..Dell $400 (480) will do it . Asus has the output 2560x1440 and LG have brightness 250 vs Dell 350 . Do not see the difference , but it may be . I will not play with video . Thanks
Now I will start with video card . It will be a chore to find info about inside lap or desk. But desk is not much cheaper ...so laptop.

Please advise. I would like to buy a decent 27” computer monitor4K. Does not have to be wireless remote (I can buy the adapter later $70). I would like to calibrate the colors, but not for printing , will do only jpegs with Elements 15. Just want a sharp one w good colors= 4K for viewing .
I have now the old laptop with 1336x768 resolution. Will this one work with 4K? …(do not mean at 4k capacity ).
I was told that 1920 x computers will have a compatible graphic cards. BUT I hope I do not need a 4k screen laptop ….correct?
So, the monitor first: B&H has LG 27 UD58-B for $330 & LG 27 MU 58P-B for $435 …also Del P2715Q for $580 I do not understand the differences ...but I will not use it for games, hardly for movies.
Can someone give me a hint? Sure I want to spend minimum $...I still need to buy a laptop

OK, thank you . I will wait for real owner who has used it. BUT...
I have spoken with a photographer using the "toy camera" and seen his photos on HD TV monitor. Quality was very good - I was an inch from buying it. Now I own a Nikon 7100 w 16-300 mm Tamron ="gear for every weather" and I am not quite 100% happy with long shots - sharpness. But it is mostly the operator's problem ... I know.

That loop is called Black Point Drive . Driving on dikes . Get to Titusville and across the intra-costal bridge (drive that bridge 30MPH !!!)..you get to Parish Park ...drive straight thru untill you get to sharp road curve to right (East). But you need to go straight instead - be carefull there . It is 55MPH and it is a back entrance to NASA= people drive it fast.

Thank you for the responses. B&H says they are looking for extra supply. It would be nice to get the same camera and RAW . I do not understand that they dropped it ...it still sells for high price, no significant drop. I guess the lack of RAW is due to no competition with bigger cameras. But I do not have any knowledge nor clue. So, let's wait a while.
