I personally prefer using the clarity and vibrance sliders rather than the dehaze. I feel it gives the same result with more control on my end.

Haines in Southeast Alaska is the undiscovered country, and the Alaska of most folks' dreams. www.TimeNSpace.net

I got a Flashpoint from Adorama, and eventually invested in the Gitzo, remembering the adage: "If you buy the best the first time, it only hurts once."

I thought (and still do) that this was a very timely question given my current circumstance. Then I noticed the question was about PS 5.5 and NOT PS-CS5 with which I have recently had an issue in the W10 environment. I want to talk about it anyway, as it may be helpful to someone out there. I have perpetual licenses on all my Adobe products, and would like to keep it that way. I recently tried to reinstall PS-CS5 to correct an error that prevented my text tool from opening. Upon reinstalling, my license was accepted to open a subscription service, and not a stand-alone version. I called Adobe to ask questions about the CC option. I was informed that PS-CS5 is now incompatible with W10 and that I would need the CC. Well, heck, I had just installed it on another computer with W10 pending my solving my text tool issue. I did not bring that up with the Adobe rep, and decided that I would give the CC a try on the trial offering. To make a long story shorter, I had a lot of problems getting it installed, and particularly getting it to work on my mobile devices. The CC tech expert finally suggested I go to the forums for expert advice. Afraid of eventually loosing my NIK plugins through upgrades, and hearing stories of subscribers who had to fight with Adobe to keep their subscription rate from increasing upon renewal, I decided to fight back. I did some investigating, and it turns out my LR6 upgrades had boogered things up to where I was being forced to change over to subscription. Solution: uninstall everything Adobe. I did deep cleans with IObit Uninstaller. Went into my Program/Common Files folders and deleted all Adobe folders. Went into RegEdit and deleted all adobe folders and keys. Reinstalled PS-CS5 and it worked perfectly. Reinstalled all my other Adobe products without issue. I will not longer allow Adobe to upgrade the programs that are working perfectly fine for me. In this time consuming experience I have found Adobe to be manipulative, misleading, and falling short on technical support. Lovely product, horrible company. Very disappointed. Hope this helps someone.

Is it possible to add a second OS that you could switch to that would run it?

In dealing with a problem similar to this one being discussed, a freeware program called VirtualBox was recommended. I have not used it, but was informed it works well to allow programs to operate in the XP operating system within Windows 10.

At the risk of running up against an AUP of the UHH, I would like to mention that I do offer workshops to the destination traveler to Haines Alaska. Singles vs doubles never an issue, level of expertise never an issue, as I work solely with individuals or couples who stay in our accommodations and tailor the experience to the desires of the individual. Aside from getting here, perhaps the most affordable workshops you will find anywhere, focusing on great landscapes and wildlife. More info at: https://timenspace.net/photography-workshop/

You cannot go wrong with either choice. I am a photography guide in Haines Alaska and can honestly say our guests have always found Alaska to be the crown of their bucket list, and Haines in particular has been the Alaska they wanted to see, away from the cruise ships and gift shops. If you do a cruise in Southeast Alaska, Haines is accessible directly or by fast ferry from Skagway, where most ships land. If you want to get away from the 10,000 tourists looking for diamonds and t-shirts, come visit Haines. I work with a company that offers day photo tours and would be happy to line you up with information if you message me. I also cater to more personalized workshops for destination travelers who want to visit Haines for an extended stay. That information is at: https://timenspace.net/photography-workshop/ I am happy to help either way if you choose Alaska!

As a wildlife photographer, I love my D800. You are never close enough for wildlife (they have their own opinion about it) and sometimes you do not want to be any closer than you need to be (hello Mr. Bear!). The high resolution allows for cropping in while maintaining good resolution. Granted, it isn't fast due to the file size, but at the end of the day I have all the photos I need (sometimes more than I need) which is something some Canon owners concede sometimes is a plus. Free time is nice too!

I love buying from Best Buy. Perfect pricing, free shipping. They had my D800 years ago when everyone else was back-ordered. What I do not love is their Geek Squad extended warranty. I will never invest in that again. I got the three-year extended warranty. After a year, I submitted my camera for some service, and they replaced it, then considered the warranty fulfilled and that was the end of that. Nikon would have done the service for far less than it ended up costing me in unused warranty costs. I now insure my equipment through my homeowner's policy. Otherwise Mrs. Lincoln, Best Buy rocks!
