is there any way to open up the camera on your computer to view your pictures and delete from there. i know there is a tab that says delete all pictures from camera but if i just want to delete a few at a time while viewing them on the computer and not thru the camera viewfinder is that possible? when i say a few really about 800 out of a thousand. i dont want them all gone because i like to keep some of my favorites as a backup. i have a nikon d7000. thanks!

you should try lightroom! it has all the colors on sliders to make adjustments!! BW is much easier on it.

There is no "perfect" recipe for a B/W conversation. Each image is slightly different and needs to be customized as such (red filter, blue fliter, green fliter, etct).

I use a black and white gradient map, a photo filter layer, a layer for contrast, a layer to add highlights, a layer to bring out my mid-tones a layer to add depth to my shadows and then I dodge and burn even more.

i love my 7000 because i live in a very humid area. by the beach and with the body being weather proof i am hoping that will help the camera last longer than previous cameras!

Another way to look at it: by the time you can burn out the shutter on ANY DSLR (all of which have short useful lives) the camera world will have advanced so far you will simply want to retire the old camera and favor the new.

i already gave away my old cameras and bought the nikon d7000. Just hoped that it would last me more than a couple of years. makes me not want to take so many pics of all the people who want me to take their pics!! yes, you can get a readout of how many actuations but it varies. you can google it easy enough. i bougth mine used but it only had 20 actuations on it!! the owner said it was just too heavy for him.

I have a question of how long a camera will last, without any mishaps of course . just the regular lifespan of a camera. the reason i am asking, i had 2 canon S3 and S5. both lasted about 2 years each. they did not break but my pictures just became grainier and grainier till i couldnt stand it anymore. I now have a nikon d7000 but take thousands of pictures. If i take about 400 pics in one setting say twice a week and then of course there would be vacations where i would take a couple of thousand. so anyone know with regular use how long a camera like that should last?

There are no written rules about posting a lot of pics.
I would suggest to you or to anyone else not to post over 3 unless they are very different and extremely interesting.

Please not another self appointed forum cop!! Your shots are well presented and it certainly gives the young lady a variety to choose from. Keep on shooting and post as many as you like...............
