I purchased a Nikon D500 some months back along with a Nikon 200-500mm f5.6. I'm a little disappointed in the focus clarity of the Nikon zoom, so I've tried the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary and the Tamron 150-600mm G2. While I thought the Sigma delivered better results optically than my Nikon, the Sigma and the Tamron both struggled to find focus on the D500, the Tamron being worse than the Sigma. The Nikon zoom is much faster at focusing. Is there something Nikon puts on the mount to make sure their lenses focus faster, better than third party lenses--I mean some proprietary pin placement or whatchamacallit to ensure their lenses are a tad better in the focusing department? I'd go with the Sigma for the better results IF it focused as smoothly as the Nikon, but I'm really frustrated at this point. I wouldn't want to have sharper photos with the Sigma at the expense of not being able to catch BIF like my Nikon can fairly effortlessly. Anyone else had these issues?

I have an idea the drone was lower than 83ft, but how could either party PROVE this.
And I do side with the property owner, especially if the drone had a camera mounted and aimed at my home.
I live in the country and have a fairly secluded back yard but my deck is visible from the air as most are, my home is in the flyway for Fort Leonard Wood military base, a few years ago my girl friend and I were sunbathing nude on the deck, I heard the choppers (2) coming over, we laid still as they passed, now guess what, lol they turned around and came in so low we could see the soldiers faces, we waved , they flew off.
Glad we could make their day.
Now had that been a drone with a camera I'M sure it would have bit the dust had it made a return trip.

Hello All,
I have been taking photographs, seriously, for about a year. I have a Nikon D5500, it came with two kit lenses, a 18-55 and a 55-300. I have been thinking I would like to consolidate to one lens. The three I have been looking at are the 16-300 Tamron, 18-300 Sigma, and 18-300 Nikon. Any thoughts? Can I expect the same/better/worse image quality with one (of the three) lenses oppose to the two kit lenses mentioned. Or would I just be looking at the convenience of not changing lenses? Thanks for the input.

This afternoon, a ban was initiated for a number of airlines flying into the US from the Middle East and North Africa, for any electronics larger than a mobile phone. The article goes on to say that the UK is looking at also copying this practice.
It is not time to panic, but it is something to carefully monitor. The damned airlines lose, have frequent thefts and generally bash luggage now; what would they do to protect large volume camera gear, if this is more generally adopted?
