I have been watching a lot of movies from the 30s, 40s, and 50s on the local PBS channel. One thing I notice about those movies is that a lot of the characters are smoking, or they are holding a cigarette but not smoking. I wonder if the tobacco companies get the studios to have the characters smoke so they can entice the audiences to buy more cigarettes.

Maybe you can find a Honda Fit that is HO model train gauge which is 1/87 scale, smaller than 1/64. If so there would be a lot of other things you could get for it that you could stuff in the globe like buildings, train trestles, landscape materials, trees, people, etc. You could make a regular diorama to go in the globe. Just a thought.

One of my vehicles is a 1996 Ford Explorer. For the most part it's a great car, haven't had many issues with it. Lately I have to fiddle with the gear shift lever to get the starter to engage. I figure it is the neutral safety switch. I used to do most of the work on my cars but being 81 and having medical issues lately I don't care to work on the cars anymore. So I took the car to a local repair shop to have it checked/repaired but they said they don't work on anything earlier than a 1999 vehicle which he said was the same with most garages. Oh, crap. That isn't as bad as motorcycles. According to the MC shop I frequented when I had a motorcycle they won't work on any MC over seven years old.

The place that said they don't work on anything earlier that 1999 gave me the name of a place that will work on it. I did find a Youtube video showing how to replace the switch but it requires getting under the vehicle to do the job which would be really difficult for me. If it was in the engine compartment I could probably handle the job Ok.

I saw this video a few years ago. I liked it so much that I downloaded it to my computer. I reinstalled Windows on the computer which caused me to lose the video. Now I can download it again. Thanks.

We have a store here in town called Costco. They don't have any bags, plastic or paper. However, they will give you a free box that you can carry your purchases home in. Then it's up to you to recycle the cardboard.

Plastic bags? They're history!
Not everywhere but it would be a good idea.

How do you get new one in is the trick
I was wondering about that also. Maybe he put the new water heater in a more accessible location.

Had a mustache for many years a long time ago. Although I hate shaving I still do it but only every three or four days. Since I'm retired and don't go to work I forego the daily routine.

The title of your post says "Survery - Facial Hair". If this includes eye brows then yes I have some facial hair.

Oh, I get it. Whenever he is painting a picture his tusk is in his line of vision so he makes it part of the picture. Yeah, funny.

I'm glad this subject came up, I have my watch and a couple non-automatic clocks to change that I haven't done yet.

The part of the 2001 movie was the segment where the shuttle was traveling from the space station to the moon while the Blue Danube Waltz is playing.

If you didn't like "2001 - a Space Odyssey" how about this one. If you recognize the movie. It was out a few years before "2001".

What does this have to do with photography?

When I see one of these comments in the Chit-Chat Section it makes me wonder if the original post was entered in the wrong section and then moved or is it that the person making the comment didn't know what section he was in.

I had more this year than last year - about eight. Last year it was zero. And that was after I bought a $20 bag of candy at Costco. Didn't buy nearly as much this year but still had too much left over.
I live a block from the high school and I have a bunch of high schoolers passing my house on the way to and from school. I was thinking of setting up a folding table in the front and putting the leftovers on it for the students. That is if I get it done before I eat the candy myself.

I had a '64 Impala that I had to rebuild the engine AND transmission at 50K miles. If you think that would turn me off to Chevrolets after that you would be right.
