I have a Vanguard sling bag which I like but everything is crammed in. After dropping my Nikon 10-24 lens and shattering the filter (thank goodness the lens was ok), I think it’s time for something larger.
I have 3 lenses, small flash and camera. Might like to add on another camera body.
Thinking of Lowe Pro or Think Tank. Any thoughts appreciated!
try www.whitemountainflyfishing.com (Hill Country Guides). My husband has used them 3x. Very professional and friendly. They provide everything you need.
We were there this past September - 3rd week. Weather was cold and a bit rainy/snowy one day. We did, however, have a couple of sunny days when the clouds broke and we could finally see the Tetons!
Stayed three nights at Jackson Lake. Outstanding views, and I got amazing sunset photos. The dining room looks out at the mountain range.
Do you have time to get to Yellowstone, too? We covered both parks in 11 days, and it was an amazing vacation.
No I won’t be using it with a laptop. I am thinking of using this to store and travel with, but then using my sling back when out and about.

B and H has this on sale today for $100. I am looking for a larger bag to fit Nikon D5300, 4 lenses and accessories and think this may work.
I now have a Vanguard sling bag and everything is stuffed in it.
Looking for something that has a pass thru to fit on luggage, too.
Thoughts on this bag or something else?
Thanks all!!
Carol
Love this post as my husband and I are going to Vegas and Death Valley at the end of Feb, too! Staying two nights at Stovepipe and planning on going to Red Rock Canyon on the way, also. Looking forward to using my Nikon 10-24 for dramatic landscapes.
Bought the D3400 for my adult daughter last holiday season. For an entry level camera it takes amazing photos. However, my daughter never uses the Bluetooth feature. I personally prefer the WiFi capability over the Bluetooth but for the price of the D3400, it is certainly worth it. Definitely get an extra battery.
Thanks for your replies. I will stick with a reputable company when making my purchase.
Has anyone purchased from Jet Cameras? I noticed this lens on sale for $515. It is listed as new.
Has anyone found any better prices online for this lens? Please advise! Thank you!
Anyone hear of any great deals on Nikon or Tamron lenses for Black Friday? Looking at an all in one lens 18-300 or 18-400 or similar??
I prefer Nikon but seems like many photographers like Tamron, too. I have a D5300 so looking for DX lenses.
Thanks!
I bought the Nikon d3400 last xmas at Costco. The kit on Black Friday was $500. My daughter takes amazing photos of her boys with this camera. I have a d5300 and the quality of photos is as good.
That being said, it goes to show you....if you don’t have a good eye for photos, it doesn’t matter how expensive your camera is. I am considering the 18-400 Tamron as a gift for her as having one lens would be easier to capture her kids in action.
She doesn’t, however, bother with the Bluetooth transferring of photos. I have WiFi transfer on the 5300 which I like.
For a starter camera and price, Costco couldn’t be beat last year. Good luck.
I use Luminar in addition to I Photo for post processing. I find Luminar to be a bit slow but I do like all the options available. I simply need to learn how to use it better. Paid a one time fee of $69.
I am narrowing down my search and considering the Tamron 18-400, Tamron 16-300 or Nikon 18-300. Does Tamron offer VR on their lenses? Comparable image quality? Does Sigma make a similar quality lens?
DaveO, we were in Yellowstone in Sept! It snowed but we have amazing photos and memories. Do you feel Tamron is as good as Nikon?
