Has anyone purchased from Jet Cameras? I noticed this lens on sale for $515. It is listed as new.

Has anyone found any better prices online for this lens? Please advise! Thank you!

I read sereviews of them and wasn't impressed. Stripping stuff out of packages and then charging you extra, etc. I'd stay away from them.

Consider trying greentoe.com. I've used them several times and been very satisfied. You tell them what you want to pay for an item and they will see if they can get someone to sell for that price. They may come back and tell you to up your price by $10-$15.

Using Greentoe.com, I've always paid less than other places. They sell no grey market photography stuff.

Call them to make sure it is not a gray market lens. If it is, Nikon will not service it in US. You can only get service from country of origin.

Is it really worth it to save a few dollars and risk poor business practice? If you ask me the answer is NO.
Stores like B&H, Hunt, Adorama and Cameta, just to mention a few of them are reliable and serious businesses that will go to the extreme to please the customer and once the customer bought from them they will back up the sale by an excellent customer service that includes returns. No questions asked.
I believe and, this is my personal opinion that saving a few extra dollars is not the deal compared to the potential headaches dealing with those companies. We simply get what we pay for.

Jet.com is a drop shipper. Most companies in this category don't have a warehouse just a website to provide products from other companies. They have little control about the quality, location or type of product their selling.

From my own personal experience. I saved about $100.00 buying a D3300 with lenses and other stuff from a company similar to Jet.com. 3 weeks later the 70-300mm lens broke. The company who made the lens was very nice and apologized for my inconvenience. However because the lens was a gray Market... sorry, but we'll sell you another one. Lesson learned about gray market. After buying another lens my "savings" was about -$100.00.

Sometimes you Win, sometimes you Lose.

Nikon makes 2 18-300 lens, the 3.5-5.6 has better glass.

Me personally, I would go with a reliable company and check their use or refurbished lenses too. As for that lens, I would go with the f/5.6 version, which have and use.
