Has anyone gone on a one week photo shoot of Belize? Am thinking of going there with a Company called "Wildside Workshops". Accommodations look to be basic, but the daily photo activities seem to be awesome. Am also considering a trip to "Death Valley" with a Company called the "Barefoot Contessa". Need help deciding. The Death Valley trip is much cheaper than the Belize trip

You will never regret going to Belize. I am going back for the third time.

Setting up Eye-Fi Direct Mode with a computer

http://support.eye.fi/features/direct/enable-direct-mode-to-computer/

I dont know whether this will help or not as I have not tried it, but it seems as long as there is no other wireless network available (in the mountains) it should connect to the computer, according to eyefi support page.

Thanks I am going to try this! EyeFi works great with my tab!et but having trouble with PC.

Well, I like the composition...as usual, but your touch with HDR is exceptional in this photo. While the scene isn't that contrasty you do bring it out to it's best. I'd say great job.

I like the result a lot and am a big fan of HDR no halos. I think halos are some times just like chromatic abortions at areas of high contrast transition my avitar is an HDR comprised of 9 images and the halo around the tree is obvious. Beautiful shot

Hi all. I just joined this Forum after reading your posts for a couple of weeks.
I have been around photography for quite a while but have just recently gotten serious again.
HDR seems to be a great tool in the right circumstances so I have reviewed Photomatix Pro 5 and HDR Efex Pro. Both seem to be great (I don't use Photoshop, just Lightroom 5).
Do any of you recommend either of the 2 pieces of software mentioned over the other? If so why?
IThanks in advance for any advice offered.
Hi all. I just joined this Forum after reading yo... (show quote)

I prefer photomatix. One of the things that I like about it is the ability to fine tune a single photo. It is very good at removing noise and chromatic aborartions with it and photoshop elements I can do everything I need at reasonable costs.

I'm running an old version of Photoshop Elements on a Win XP computer (I know, Microsoft thinks I should stop using it, but I use it for some legacy programs that don't run on anything newer).

I now have a Win 7 computer with 8 GB ram that I'd like to move my photo editing to. What are the main trade offs between current versions of Lightroom & Elements? BTW, I'm considering downloading & learning to use GIMP 2.8 since it's free. Any feedback on that would also be appreciated. :)

As a former technical trainer I would suggest you consider what tyope of
editing you want to do. Next look at YouTube video's on those subjects and see what software best meets those needs and which one suits your style. Both roger Browne and Serge Ramilli

I entered this shot and a couple of others in several competitions recently and have just received my prize of a Nikon D5300. I couldn't believe it when I got the e-mail telling me of my success.

I agree with the judges! These birds look like the boobies at the Galapagos!

I have often mentioned that I would post images of kingfishers, on the request of some friends on UHH. I start with the Common Kingfisher.

Do you have a guest bedroom? Absolutely beautiful birds.

Thank you. But I need criticism to learn! I took a picture of my wife and every pore, wrinkle, blemish...they all showed with this camera. She told me to delete it. I saved it to my blackmail file

Tell her to buy you perfect portrait and you can fix the pic./
