I was successful in removing the fungus from my canon 35-80 III lens. However (and there's always a however), i bent the brush that wipes the contact strips inside the lens. It has been my experience with these types of parts that you can never get them back in the right position, and it is usually best you buy another one. Does anyone have an idea where and how much.
Great shot. I have a pretty good camera, but your ere for composition proves you don't need a great camera totake great photos.
OK, I finally got the 7d. It's a mk1 with a 50mm USM lens, 3 batteries and a charger. I got it for $150.00.
The Goodyear Corsair was given the designation fg-1d. So I guess you are correct in saying Voight built the f4u.
Don, I retired from post-secondary education in 2012. Sitting around watching grass grow was not for me so I took a job at Cash America Pawn on Gause. I work 4 days a week.

In April of 2017, the Blue Angels will come back to New Orleans. It's been more than I can remember since we have had an air show at the local Joint Forces base.
Don, I see you are in Slidell. I live in Carriere and work in Slidell.
great set of photos. Wish I was there
The museum is fantastic. There is a film called Beyond All Boundaries . It is possibly one of the most moving experiences I have ever had. I have had the pleasure of visiting twice. They have just put in a new exhibit, The Road to Tokyo, which I haven't had a chance to see.
The National WWII Museum in New Orleans hosted their annual Air Power expo. There were many WWII aircraft including a B-29 and a B-29. I learned that photographing fast moving planes is not easy.I am attaching a few that I like. I hope you do too.
I thank you all for your advice. I never knew that lenses could get a fungus in them. I kind of thought that they were sealed in some fashion. Thanks to your replies, I know how to store my cameras and lenses. Thanks all of you
If I can get the front element off, I'll give it a shot. I can get another one from a local pawn shop for 20 dollars.
I found a video on the disassembly of this lens. It, unfortunately, covered ver 1. I have ver 3. How do I remove the front element once I remove the 3 screws I assume hold it place? Someone gave it to me. I think I know why it was free.
I may have an opportunity to buy a Canon 7d with a 50mm lens and 3 battries for $150 - $200. Would this be a good deal?
Wow, I certainly got what I asked for. Thanks to all you who responded. I am glad I found this site so I can improve my skills. I was into this hobby many years ago, but life got in the way of devoting a lot of time. Now at age 73, I can spend more time trying to get better. All of you are certainly willing to help. Thanks
