The National WWII Museum in New Orleans hosted their annual Air Power expo. There were many WWII aircraft including a B-29 and a B-29. I learned that photographing fast moving planes is not easy.I am attaching a few that I like. I hope you do too.
I want to go to that Museum. One of these days, I'm going to cash in some airline miles and do it. Motel prices drop when it is not the Mardi Gras season. Nice shots!
The museum is fantastic. There is a film called Beyond All Boundaries . It is possibly one of the most moving experiences I have ever had. I have had the pleasure of visiting twice. They have just put in a new exhibit, The Road to Tokyo, which I haven't had a chance to see.

Hey Vince, nice shots. The P51 and Corsair are my two favorite fighters from WWII.
Some good shots Vince. I attend the Expo on Friday, 11/4/2016. Spent about 7 hours there, time well spent. Still working through mine in LR. Should be posting some in the next day or two.

Don, I see you are in Slidell. I live in Carriere and work in Slidell.
In April of 2017, the Blue Angels will come back to New Orleans. It's been more than I can remember since we have had an air show at the local Joint Forces base.
What is a "Goodyear Corsair"? I thought Grumman was the manufacturer? Goodyear makes tires, yes?

Chance Vought was the manufacturer of the F4U. The design was was given to Goodyear so that they could then manufacture them to get more units into the war quicker. It had an 11.1 kill ratio. There were 12571 built and served in the U.S. from 1942-1953 (ww2 & Korea). They were also flown by the French in indochina (vietnam) and other smaller airforces up to the early 60's. This was a common practice during the war, Singer sewing machine and other companies produced weapons and other equipment that they didn't before the war.

Don, I retired from post-secondary education in 2012. Sitting around watching grass grow was not for me so I took a job at Cash America Pawn on Gause. I work 4 days a week.
