You need one of these, Clint.

That is a kickstarter project. If you want a similar product now, Peak Design has one that holds two rather than three lenses. They are for limited camera manufacturers, however.

There are some very good courses on Udemy.com. They often have sales when most courses are $10. I thought this is the best one: https://www.udemy.com/master-adobe-photoshop-lightroom-cc-from-beginner-to-advan/learn/v4/overview

I agree that the Panasonic LUMIX ZS or TZ (depending on country) camera series is a great pocket camera.

The features and flexibility of these small cameras should meet and exceed your requirements. Newer models also have an electronic view finder so taking photos in bright light is possible. The only thing that may disappoint is the amount of Bokeh you can achieve, but post processing can fix that.

If the repair cost is too high and you feel comfortable messing with the camera, there are some really detailed videos on YouTube that show you how to fix that and other models in the ZS series.

I have never been one for camera straps.
They can be annoying when you want to remove the strap to do macro.
That is, until a saw this video clip.

Just clips off when you want to do macro and other things without the strap

So I bought one.
Brilliant.
Made in the United States of America, at last.
You will not be disappointed.
.

I second this! The Peak Design system is wonderful. Very comfortable and versatile.

I did not recommend that the same options as Facebook be used, just the overall concept.
I do understand you do not like the idea. ;)

Yes, but like in Facebook, have the number of likes or dislikes attached to the individual reply rather than creating a new reply.

And it may be somewhat off topic, but it was meant as a possible option rather than creating a newbie section.

I wonder if viewers were given the ability to Like or Dislike each post, rather than only having the option of replying, we might see different behavior. Options to indicate you feel a reply is off topic, or the conversation should be ocurring elsewhere could be useful as well. I propose that seeing a lot of likes or dislikes on a reply can help readers to determine whether a reply should be accepted or ignored, which could be especially useful to "newbies".

How would a newbie be defined? How would you define a basic question versus a complex or advanced question?

I had a question about how exposure is managed for certain situations using back button focusing. I started using film SLRs in 1970. I looked in books, online courses, Google, You-Tube, and searched here on UHH but could not find an answer. I considered asking on the main forum, but BBF questions had been asked before. And I was discouraged by the snarky answers and tendency for people to get off topic and/or ask unrelated questions.

I finally opted to private message a member who has done some excellent YouTube videos. I received a very helpful answer. No one else got to benefit, but l got what l needed without any snide remarks.

Would I qualify as a newbie? Was that question a newbie question? Was it a basic or advanced question? How would I know where to post that question?

I do not think a newbie section is a good idea because there are topics that newbies ask that can help experienced people and advanced topics that can help newbies. Everyone has the ability to read a question and just skip it if they think it is a repetitive, basic, too advanced, or a silly question.

I find the links people post helpful, not insulting; Google searches by different people do not always turn up the same links. Links to other posts are helpful because UHH searches may not find them. Snarky remarks, squabbles and off topic questions and arguments are just wasting the time of people who are interested in the topic. To people who do those things, please don't waste your time posting to a question you don't like.

Look at Craftsy and Udemy; they have some good courses, unless you are looking for expert level courses. If you wait for the sales, you can get most courses on Craftsy for $20 and on Udemy for $10. You can find both on line or you can use iOS and Android apps.

I also had the wrong shutter speed on my film SLR at a party, but pics came back with half the photo perfectly exposed and the other half black. Also learned to always check the tension when using the film advance lever to be sure the film firmly caught the take up reel!

I have been a Nikon shooter for many years. There are no Nikon primes that will satisfy all of your requirements. For example, there are no Nikon lenses that will be a good landscape lens and a portrait lens. For landscape I recommend the 20mm/f1.8 prime. Which should provide about a 30mm angle of view on your crop sensor camera. For portraits I would recommend Nikon's 85mm/1.8 which would provide an outstanding about 125mm on a crop sensor camera. Both of these prime are outstanding focusing, optically and fairly lower cost lenses. Both lenses are full frame lenses. Another option would be the outstanding 16mm to 35mm/4 Nikon lens, which for your camera would yield 24mm to close to 50mm focal. This lens is an OK distance for landscape plus a optically mid range 50mm lens. This lens is also a full frame lens and is reasonable priced for these focal distances.

Nikon has a deal on the 35mm and 85mm for $500. http://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/camera-lenses/macro--portrait-2-lens-kit.html
