Took this photo a couple days ago during a rare sunny day. The distance was about 200' so this is heavily cropped. I would never have seen him/her if he hadn't made his hoo hoo hoo hoo, pause hoo hoo hoo hoo call. There were about 7 or eight crows flying all around him, so I'm guessing the crows had a nest near by.

Nice shot of this comical looking bird. They always look a wee bit angry. Try placing a suet cake in a good spot for picture taking. They will hang around a little longer to get at the suet. I can't do that because it would involve taking the screen out of the kitchen window, then the cats would get out. :)

I probably missed on the first because until I looked it up I had no idea what a "mix tape" was. Now that I know, I still don't see anything funny about it. But I suspect it's just me. I have never found anything funny about people like Lucille Ball, Jacky Gleason, Sienfeld (if that's the way it's spelled), the 3 Stoges, -- you get the idea. And I can't blame it on genes, because close members of my family watch such "stuff." A sister even watches "Survivor," although that's not supposed to be funny, while "reality" it most definitely isn't. It may in fact be funny, but I'll never know. The point is, I've never been able to equate the pathetic, the ridiculous, or the trite to funny. I'm not sure that I can even explain what I find funny. I can be reading a book and come onto a sentence which actually arouses laughter. When I (rarely) show the passage to others they quite often don't get it. So once again, I am proven to be really strange. Thank some deity somewhere. Don't let this detract from your (generic usage) own enjoyment. Cheers.

Maybe look up some Far Side funnies or some older Bob Newhart stuff. I never cared for the slapstick stuff either. If you have to work too hard at being funny, it falls flat.

I keep my debit card in my aluminum wallet 24/7 except when using it. I have never lost or misplaced it but somehow, someone posing as a Jack Zarr tried to make a purchase at a Walgreens in Maine using my card number. It was a real hassle trying to get this fixed and get my new card. My bank was suspicious since I'm in NC. and have never even been to Maine. These scammers must try a combination of numbers day and night to find one that works.

Right time and right place. Very nice shot. This partial albino feature must be getting to be more common. I saw one earlier of a mostly white Robin titled "Once in a lifetime." I have a few shots of a leucistic Wren. This makes the bird a lot more showy.

That belongs in a nice understated frame in a heavily traveled space on your wall. Amazing shot. Blow it up to at least a 13 x 19 in.

I'm old enough to remember most of the 50's and all of the 60's. I don't recall ever seeing any women, including my mother, wearing pearls and high heel shoes while doing housework. Out of hundreds of photos, you won't see many overweight people in them back then.

Love all of these as long as we don't get em. It was 80 degrees here when it was snowing in California. It should have been the other way around. The Heron looks confused by all the white stuff. Beautiful shots.

You mean "nice" enough to let you get an "excellent" portrait. That's still in my bucket list.

I think that if I hadn't got bit or scratched, I would have foregone the shot. I've escorted any number of bats out of the house. I like bats and everytime I don't get bit by mosquito, I thank a bat.

I even broke down and bought a bat house to hopefully reduce the mosquito population in my area.
Unfortunately, no bats decided to check it out.

I googled up that info on the rabies shots a while back, and I'm a lot more careful around my raccoons and skunks than I use to be. A bat, from what I've read, can bite without you knowing and not leave a visible bite mark. You might not even awaken from your sleep. That's why the doctor suggested they get the shots.
