That looks like Donna Reed and Carl Betz from the Donna Reed show with the sewing machine at about the two minute spot. I had a crush on Donna Reed back in the '50s.

Those few decades after World War Two were anomalies unfortunately.

The world was in one big wreck...the only major power left standing basically untouched was the USA.

We could not be anything other than prosperous...happy.

The world caught back up...the US pol's rode it into the ground (our advantages)...and it's gone.

Count yourself lucky if you were able to experience those decades.

It's been downhill ever since...with only acceleration being the variable now.

I'm old enough to remember most of the 50's and all of the 60's. I don't recall ever seeing any women, including my mother, wearing pearls and high heel shoes while doing housework. Out of hundreds of photos, you won't see many overweight people in them back then.

I never wore pearl and/or heels either.
