All great photos, how far down Kane creek did your detour take you?

Have used a 6x7 for 25 years and love its ruggedness. Pentax made an adapter to use 6x7 lenses on 35mm pentax cameras. That really uses the sweet spot of a lens. Does look a bit odd though.

Great shots, I really like the Valley of fire park. Have you been to Little Finland just east of VOF on the other side of the Virgin river?

I think that is an old belt driven water pump.

It is an old one cylinder motor that probably powered a pump.

I don't know what state you are in but some states make it hard for solar to pay for it's self. We paid cash for our solar becausw there are so many problems with the finance type deals.
We looked-talked with 4 outfits before deciding. Three of them wanted to over sell the number of panels that we actually needed. They recommended 15 to 17, we have 10 and have only paid for power 3 months in 5 years. Fell free to pm me for more info.

I miss seeing the canyon like you have shown use so well. Lived in Bellemont for 25 years. Absolutely a very fine photo.

I like your picture of the Eye better than some I have taken, well done. I wonder what percent of ANP patrons have viewed the Eye of the Whale. It is only about a mile from Balanced Rock if my memory is correct.

My first Pentax was a P-30T that I lost On a Sedona trail. Next a PZ-20 and I started collecting Pentax camera's. 110 system, couple of screw mounts,a bunch of M series,A couple of LX's(probably Pentax's best film camera), 5 or 6 Pz's, 5 SF's, 7 Zx's(probably the worst film series) and 4 digital ending with a K-1. Plus a bunch of flashes and adapters, such as 6x7 to 35mm lenses. A real nice bellows and 90mm flat field lens for close up stuff. I really like to look and handle the old metal bodies, great craftsmanship. Yes there are some Pentax fans still around.

I would say the gate is much newer than the Loading chute.

I think the reverse to be true. To me the gate is much older. The photos are great even in double download, just really fine.

Nice photo series, of Slide (Slippery) Rock State Park. The water covered rocks are slicker than ice. Bare feet, lug sole boots, deck shoes, flip-flops, anything and if you are not real careful you will examine the wet rocks from up close and painful. There is a chute that is about 2 feet deep that you can sit down in and the water will take you down the creek about 100 feet and dump you in a pool after a very small waterfall.
Lived in the Flagstaff area for 26 years and spent a lot of time and film at Slide Rock, great place.
