Intimate Landscapes of Utah (take 2)

For whatever reason, my second batch of Intimate Landscapes of Utah never got posted by the site. So while the first posting (Beauty at your feet) got 2000 views this second one got less than a hundred. These are what Phillip Hyde so accurately and poetically called "Intimate Landscapes". Sky and horizon lines never appear but they give a good sense of what it's like to walk this land (in this case all in southern Utah). Yes the colors in the first image really looked like that! Please view in download.

Fun set. The shadows are cool in #1 and I love all the textures and tones.

Wonderful! So important to always be looking at and enjoying the entire environment. Thanks for recording it.

Photo opportunities are everywhere.

The fact that you chose to focus on the entirety of your odyssey in your travels and exploration of this special world, gives the viewer more fully the impression of entering into a magical unexplored space.

Good eye, it is petrified wood in a sea of Chinle Badlands (Chinle is one of the sandstone layers - when you hike extensively off trail in Utah it's imperative that you know your geology)

For me, knowing the geology is not as imperative as the beauty of the subject. The images are superb . . .

These photos make me think you are channeling my father (a good thing). He had a great eye for nature's abstracts, meaning he knew how to hone down his composition to where things SEEMED abstract. Thank you.
