Watching a video about the LR5 Printing Module I learned some about Softproofing. To investigate further I went to HP's site and looked for paper profiles for some of the papers I use. I was all over the HP site and even called support but no one I talked with had any idea what I was talking about. If someone has information about this area I would appreciate a Heads UP.
I have a D90 and Lightroom 5. I watch a lot of YouTube videos on Photographic subjects and the presenters have wet my appetite for tethering. So anyone with D90 doing this? My computer's PC's operating system is Windows 7. I guess a cable with USB on one end that would plug into my D90. There may have been a short one in the kit box, but even if I can locate that seems like it would be to short. I guess I could add an extension to the USB side.
I got started with Mr Kelby with LR3. Bought the LR5 book when I upgraded. Between Mr Kelby and about a million LR videos on YouTube I've painlessly acquired a ton of info.
I double checked for a borderless option either in LR5 print setup and also examined the printer properties and had no luck.
Trying to print 4X6 prints. Works OK but I don't seem to be able to make borderless prints. Anyone know if this can be done? I've attached a screenshot of my setting - it appears there's a .12 border all around. It will not let me make it zero.
I 2nd Pepper's suggestion of the 10-24. I like to lay on my belly and include close objects in my compositions. Most of my wide angle stuff is shot at 10 so only being able to go 17 would prevent my close framing. Any wider I would likely be frustrated with curvy images, which for me have little appeal.
In search of "Tack Sharp" I jumped on a device to, I thought, give auto focus compensation a try. Of course, I jumped before understanding anything about this process. Found nothing in my D90 manual - even went so far as to download a D7100 manual. So is it only certain cameras or is the adjustment in the lens or... The device I purchased is from Focus Pyramid.
Recently I posted about finding my way back to posts I wanted to revisit. Just logged into the site using Internet Explorer... Presto there's the BOOKMARK and WATCH buttons. More important clicking on the question mark yields all sorts of other features I was not aware of. I'm a huge fan of the Firefox browser, but it seems not everything is displayed.
I have to offer a strong 2nd to Bear2. The 18-200 VR2 is going to be your prime walking around lens. I have a 70-300 but very rarely use it - I'll likely sell it. I bought a refurbished from Amazon (Cameta Camera)
My question is about finding a specific post. I've learned that the line in the daily email (example: http://news.uglyhedgehog.com/b-192522-d-884) can be cut and pasted into my browser's URL address to bring me to a list which may contain the exact item I wish to reexamine. Is there a more exact way? I try to screenshot items I find of particular interest, but storing these is kind of tedious.
Trying to get a handle on this process. Seems to work if I hold in the AEAF button then press the shutter. Is this right? Focus lock (When I see the dot in the viewfinder). Shot objects all around to room at various distances pressing the back button then the shutter. Amazingly my vertical grip MD80 buttons are working as expected. Any suggestions?
I've used an SB600 for several years on my D90 - Nooo problems and easy to use. The 900 or 910 to me are more for persons desiring to use multiple speedlights with deep pockets. IMHO get the SB700.
Retired programmer enjoying life. Have a Nikon D90 which takes great pics of landscapes, particularly at the Oregon coast.
