I was anxious to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 on my laptop. The laptop has the horsepower and memory to handle it, so no problems there. And, the install seemed easy. Since then however, operational issues have made the system non-usable.

When first installed, Win 10 seemed to function normally. Now, it won't start completely. Upon startup, once it has loaded all the icons, it clears the screen and starts over. It's maddening! I can sometimes get a program started, but in the background I can see the screen continuing to recycle/refresh. It will not stop... ever.

When are you Windows folks going to learn and switch to a Mac?

And, I don't know what to do about it. I am probably going to go back to Win 7, which was rock-solid. I am totally regretting the upgrade to Win 10.

The good news is that the laptop is not my only computer. My desktop is primary for LR & PS & photo storage. So, I'm not desperate, but certainly very frustrated.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Didn't mention any plans for the US market.

Being relatively new to pp I'm confused after taking several courses in using PS CC. Some of them recommend using Bridge as a link to PS CC, while some suggest using LR CC as the link.
Do you pros using one program exclusively or use both? Which would you recommend? I like Bridge as it seems easiest to use and will open in Camera Raw then PS. But LR CC seems to have more bells and whistles.
One of the problem I have with Bridge is I can't seem to find my files after the initial use. I'm doing a course thru Lynda.com and they have exercise files to use as you do the course. I can get them loaded into Bridge but then when I close out and/or load new files I can't find the old one again. Is this supposed to happen?
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated with many thanks.

To all the Veterans who are actually hogs. I recognize some of the Hogs are Vets by their byline or avatar. Rather than saying thanks to the few I can recognize I thought I would thank all the vets who are Hogs. If not for you none of us would be here talking about photos, etc. I chase you down in parking lots, restaurants, etc. when you may where a hat identifying yourself or still in uniform.

Thank You All for your service.

Greg

Thank you Greg. I'm proud to have served during the Viet Nam era even though I wasn't "in country". I'm so glad to see my fellow vets getting the recognition they deserve.

It does work well, and very precise. It's just a bit of a hassle when traveling. TSA gets weird about it.

I can see why TSA gets weird about it. The thing looks like something from Star Wars.

Can anyone recommend a decent Light Meter for under $150 that will show percentage of ambient light to flash? I'm just a hobbyist at this point and don't have the budget for an expensive meter. Many thanks!

I have a Gossen Luna Six with the spot meter attachment. I have no problems getting batteries for it. It comes from the seventies but still works perfectly. ISO and ASA are interchangeable so that's not a problem.

I love that meter particularly since it allows me to measure very slow exposures but I have to admit that I have supplemented it with a Sekonic L758DR that includes flash metering. The Sekonic gets most of my attention now but the Gossen is still loved and used sometimes.

Hi Bugfan - Thanks for your reply. Do you have a source for those batteries you would share? Preferably online. :-D

I have an old (50 years) Gossen Luna Six Pro that I used in my film camera days. It uses the old ASA system which I assume will covert to our current ISO settings. Will it work the same way for readings? The old battery in it isn't strong enough to give me a reading so I need to find new ones if it is worth while and will work with my current and future cameras.
