You say scrap the ZS50 for the ZS60 - What does the ZS60 offer (besides touch screen) that the ZS50 does not?

No, that's not a good price - B&H has refurbished ones for $249.00. I bought one and like it for what it does well: long lens, pocketable. I don't like the fact that ISO auto is not available in M mode and that in M mode the LCD shows a view of the scene that does not reflect the aperture/shutter set, that only comes up when you half press button to focus. Otherwise in PAS modes it performs "normally."

Check out You Tube and Gary Friedman's "Undisclosed facts about the A6300". In the beginning of that he does a bit on the "kit" 16-50 lens which explains why it's a good lens for the Sony line. Basically, Sony's line corrects in-camera for the lens.

A week or so ago I posted a problem I was having in getting a camera back that I had traded in. I was not getting calls or e-mails returned. I remembered that there was a man named Hershel who trouble shooted for B&H and I asked for help in finding him. A fellow Hog was quick to write me with instructions and very shortly I was in contact with Hershel. He went right to Henry Posner, Director of Communications for B&H who was in touch with me and took the problem to to the Customer Service managers. That was the end of last week and today I received the camera.

There's a complicated procedure involved by B&H which leads me to think that they have a lot of these "sellers remorse" situations. One of the Hogs commented on my original post that it was more a "Jimkh problem than a B&H problem" which I thought at the time was unnecessary but now I think he was right. I wasn't happy with the evaluation so why did I accept it? I should have sat down (there's a couch in the B&H Trade-In room) and thought as I did later on. Here was a practically brand-new version of a current camera and if I saw this on sale at this price I probably would have grabbed it. So my hard-won advice is think hard, consider all alternatives and then make a decision.

I must congratulate and thank agsain Hershel and Henry Posner for abay-sitting me through this process. Just one more reason Why B&H is the best.

Yes, I was certainly surprised, too. There has to be some glitch somewhere for them to be so silent about so many prods. Hopefully, it will get settled on Monday due to Hershel and Posner actions.

I didn't get tired of it I just wasn't using it and I thought I ought to cut down my camera supply (I'm a serious GAS victim) and I was intrigued by the Panasonic GX85 (which I do like, I might add) but upon reflection it seemed wrong to give up such a good camera for so little thus my attempts to reverse and retain the Olympus (as well as the Panasonic of course.)

I hve been in touch with Henry Posner and he's referred my situation to the Used Dept. Head. We'll see.

Thank you. I've done what you suggested and I'm waiting for a reply.

I traded in at B&H an Olympus OMD EM10 II on May 29th for $250.00. I wasn't happy with the amount but I'd traveled a distance so I accepted. I used the trade-in amount that day for a new Panasonic GX85. Then a week or so later I had a bad case of seller's remorse so I called B&H and asked to cancel the trade and for them to return the Olympus. The representative said that was OK but I'd have to pay sales tax on the $250. He seemed to know all about the transaction just from my phone number. He said the policy was to freeze trade-ins for a week or so and told me to call on June 14th after a Jewish holiday. Idid call and this rep said the camera was still on hold although it was supposed to come off that on the 13th. He said he would call me back. Didn't happen. I called again, wrote 2 e-mails that got automated response but no action. I called again this past Tuesday and got a name this time, Eddie, who was very helpful, assuring me that the camera was still in the warehouse and I had no worries that it would be returned to me. Still no action.

I recall that there used to be a B&H person who monitored this discussion, Hershel? If he's still around I could sure use his help.

I don't have an easy reply but I've been successful in getting PDFs and Kindel stuff onto my iPad. But each time I do it it's a relearning experience so I can't be very specific. However, I know that I get the book into iTunes and then connect the iPad to the computer and then synch it with the iTunes. Probably not much help but maybe a direction to try.

labblestake: Glad I helped. I love focus peaking on both my Rx100III and the A6000.

Is it possible that you slipped off the DMF setting? I think that would affect your peaking.

The new Sony A6300 is not "out" it has just been announced for a possible March availability. B&H is accepting pre-orders and/or notification alerts when they receive the cameras. Also it is "weather resistant" not weather sealed. I'm not sure of the difference but there is a difference.

As an A6000 owner I'm not exactly excited. It has 2 main virtues for me, the improved EVF and the fact that it uses the same batteries. Video is not a plus factor for me so pending review info I'm sticking with the A6000, maybe even add a 2nd one.

Valley3photo: Great shots but I'm afaid I look at them and think how much better they could be in color.

Well put Burkphoto. You've certainl given a rational explanation for B&W interest. For me, however, B&W is yhe past, color is the present and future.
