A friend who is a Professor of Computer science had a student whose disks/drives she turned in were often corrupted so he questioned her about how she handled them. The ones she had her homework on were put on the refrigerator with a magnet so she would see them and remember to take them to school when she fixed her morning coffee. She stopped doing that and the problem was solved.
