Set up a table outside of your home with a sign, "Free Stuff" and place the equipment you want to get rid of on it.
You'd be surprised how quick neighbors will snatch up anything for free.

A shameful waste of film.

But it will likely be his images of the event which will be the most sought after, not the thousands of digital images captured by the other photographers.

Cover it with fake label showing Pentax logo. Thieves will not touch as it would be very difficult to sell. My once favourite brand (35+ years with it) skidded into virtual obscurity. It's sad, because their cameras and lenses are great. I switched to Nikon 4 years ago.

Perhaps a better fake label than "Pentax" would be something like "Fun-O-Matic".

Covering up the brand name is counterproductive. The thief will then think: "Whatever it is, it must be really good and expensive or the owner would not try to conceal it!"

If you really want your camera to appear inexpensive and toy-like, plaster it with colorful Sponge Bob or Puff Girls stickers. Perhaps the thief will then assume you are borrowing it off a kid and it is of little value.

The image looks over-sharpened. With over-sharpening, small fibers which would otherwise be barely noticeable, are exaggerated.

So you learned how to get your photos to come out the first time you used a camera? That's great.

I'm certainly not that skilled. I'm still trying. I also still love the surprise of finding a photo I forgot about when I get the roll developed. Do you still shoot film?

Yes, I still shoot film regularly.
The first time I used a camera (a Kodak Instamatic), most of the frames came out great, which encouraged me to continue shooting. It was on a vacation trip to Spain, I was about 11 then.

No such thing as best. At least not universally best for everyone. It's like asking: "What's the best toothbrush?"

"Taking your camera film to get developed, and having no idea if any of your pictures were even usable until you got the pictures back."

I suppose this was true if you were using a camera for the very first time.

It’s disgusting.

Our president destroyed our energy independence immediately after taking office and the price of gas more than doubled as a result. So instead of going to Texas or Oklahoma for more oil to bring the price back down, Biden goes to our enemy Saudi Arabia.

This action is so un-American....... and the baffling part is that some on UHH voted for Biden and still defend his un-American actions.

Saudi Arabia has far more impact on global oil prices than Texas an Oklahoma. You have much to learn about how the global economy works, travelwp. You should have paid attention in school.

Exactly how many "illegal aliens" are we talking about? Two? Three? And for what purpose? Just for fun?
Without detailed facts, your opinion is meaningless.

One shouldn't be all too critical of a company's customer service by a single experience of not getting a quick response or someone on the phone immediately. The person normally in charge of customer service may be out sick, away on vacation, or simply on lunch break or on the toilet at that very moment. And the person temporarily filling in for customer service may be tied up with other duties. Anyone who has previously worked as a customer service rep understands this. So have a little patience and try again later!

I look at it this way: If I would purchase this camera and use it to shoot 10,000 images, the cost of each image captured would come to $4.80. Considering the huge file size of each (579MB), I'm not even sure I'd want to capture that many images.

When packing for a flight, I always place my camera bag inside of my regular carry on bag. The fewer separate pieces of luggage I need to carry, the better.

What's the big deal about shutter count? I have two cameras I bought used years ago. I have no idea how many times the shutter was fired before I bought them and I have no idea how many times I have fired the shutter on each camera. When they stop working I will simply place them in the display cabinet with the other old cameras in my collection and look for a replacement--used, of course.

I suppose knowing shutter count would be important if you are trying to sell the camera and a potential buyer insists on that information.
