I can almost hear the distant thunder. Most folk would have packed up their stuff and got the heck out of there. But you couldn't resist....could you? Great shot.
BTW, I am about to have Inguinal Hernia surgery, so I suspect I'll be on here more.
curiously anticipating....

You are right.....little late to retract, but I do.
No need to retract your photo critiques, I struggled with how to present this photo without offending the family, especially since they are my daughter's in-laws.
I enjoy studying world history, including wars and conflicts which are incredibly tragic, but none the less are part of our History. There is a series on Showtime "Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States" which are controversial at times, is still interesting. For example, Henry Wallace, VP under FDR was "squeezed" out of re-election in favor of Truman.
what software/process did you use? or is a trade secret?
I am not familiar with the Post Processing Digital Images forum. Is it on UHH or another link?

your photos are wanting me to take a trip back up there, about a 3 hour drive for me.
one of my favorite places in the Smokey Mts. Most ppl not even aware it exits. I try to encourage anyone going there to find this place. Just take it easy coming down, you will fry your brakes.

What makes you think that a machinist doesn't take his time to do things right??
a good machinist does take their time to do it right, even though I am the CNC programmer/operator (2 wire edm's, a Fadal and Haas machining-center) in our shop, I still enjoy the challenging lathe work, jig-bore etc. and precision TIG welding I have to do from time to time. I've seen many that suck because they have no pride in their work and just don't like this kind of work.
served under this class "A" old-school journeyman (RIP) on the right who was a tough lead-man that would strike fear in any slacker
