I'm not sure what you want to give to the family and I will caution you not to mess around or get cute with the picture. This should not become about you or your skills. Why not just give them the photo? PS. My comment was for the burial photo.

OK Billys attempt. used Photomatix to bring out detail all over but especially in the sky. Merged Photomatix image and original with a layer mask and brushes used to tone down or bring out detail.
Threshold adjustment in channels to emphasize some of the edges of tombstones etc
Multiply filter added to sky with reduced opacity to add a little drama/
Floral tribute lightened in places and prominence increased with selective layer masking.
My own recipe of NIK filters used then into Alien Skin Exposure 6 to give it the feel of Kodachrome slide film and slightly sharpen it.

Only had time for one image and hope you like it

My renditions done primarily in lightroom. Only the B&W went to photoshop to do the masking!

Glad you liked it..... I'm not a fan of cemeteries, so I thought I'd blur it out and focus on the flowers.
