This if you are referring to the Capture NX2.

Yes, it is Capture NX2. Here is a quote from the email that I received after my call yesterday:
"Thank you for contacting Nikon. I am happy I was able to assist you today. As per conversation, we currently do not have a software compatible with the Mac 10.8.4. If you have any additional questions, please contact Nikon Technical Support."

If that is true then they have nothing to sell to buyers of new Mac computers? Baloney!

Thanks for all the responses from UHH members!

I bought a new MacBook Air laptop to take on an African Safari next month. I tried to transfer my NX2 software and ran into a brick wall. Since the new laptop never had a previous version of NX2 installed on it, the update from the Nikon site would not work. I have the original disc and the key code but it won't load with Mountain Lion. I called and found out that they do not even have an update that will work on any Mac using the Mountain Lion 10.8.4 OSX. Can't believe they are so far behind, Mountain Lion has been out for at least a year? They will not provide an estimate when it will be available. Can this really be true or did I get someone at Nikon blowing smoke?

Not completely sure what you are trying to do. I have a D7000 and a D5000 plus a Nikon SB 700 flash. I also have a Nikon ML-L3 remote shutter release. I can trigger the shutter on either the D7000 front and back, and from the front of the D5000 (if you want to be in the photo)with the ML-L3, and in the commander mode on the D7000 I can trigger the SB 700 off camera.

I want it to be wireless and have a range of more than just a few feet. Thanks!

I am considering a Yongnuo RF-603 N3 2.4GHz Wireless Flash Trigger/Wireless Shutter Release Transceiver Kit for my Nikon D7100. The information available says it works on the D7000, I would think is it compatible with the D7100 too? Some reviews say the onboard flash can't pop up when mounted on the flash shoe. Can any UHH users clarify this?

Thanks!

does anyone know how to prevent photos from becoming locked when importing from card to computer? I assume it is a camera setting or is this happening when importing? Driving me nuts. I can go into finder (mac) get info and un-lock but that is a lot of work. My wife uses a nikon coolpix point and shoot and I use a nikon D90 and D40X. Computer is a MAC

Most likely the camera setting. On the back of my Nikon cameras there is a button with a ?/key symbol. If that is pushed it will lock your photos. When you view your images on the camera screen it will show a small key icon on the upper left corner of the screen indicating the image is locked. On the back of my D7100 the lock and W/B are on the same button next to the +zoom button and I have found that it easy to accidentally push the lock button while zooming in on the image.

I have a new D7100 and I use a Mac. with OS X 10.80.3. When I try to open images with the Mac Preview Application, I get this message: "Preview currently does not support this raw file format." I have always been able to open NEF images from my other Nikon cameras with Preview.

I can open & do post processing with Capture NX2.

I have searched Google and UHH and have checked for OS X updates but can't find any update for the Preview application.

Any suggestions?

What will happen to the other images already in iPhoto if a re-install is performed?

Yes, it is an album with a number of photos. Actually the same thing happens on a couple of albums that were recently loaded into iPhoto.

After loading photos and creating an album from a D7000 and then selecting slideshow, it will start the slideshow and then quit. A drop down message appears that says: The volume for DSC_0756.jpg cannot be found. It will keep doing this for a number of photos, listing them by their number. Then it says insert the disc or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop. If you keep clicking on the drop down to get the photo, it eventually changes to a message that says: Some photos need to be prepared to view them at full size. When this occurs, it evidently goes thru the whole album and changes them so that they will play in the slide show. But the slide show will only play one time. If want to play it again, it stops and you have to go thru the whole thing again.

Any ideas what is going on here? How do you determine if the iPhoto program is compatible with photos from a D7000?

The light in the control panel on top of the camera doesn't ever go out unless the switch is turned off so I'm thinking the camera doesn't power down like my D300.

I have my Nikon 18-200 with VR mounted on the camera. Never had a problem with the D300 in that regard.

I have a spare so I will have to try it to see if it goes dead. Thanks for the quick reply.

I have a new D7100 and if I don't turn the power switch off, the battery goes completely dead overnight. I can't seem to find any info about it in the manual or on Google. My D300 does not do that.
Just wondering if it is normal or if my camera has a problem.
