Far away and long ago, there was a conversation about some sort of "pocket guide" (probably out of print) and I think it came up in a discussion of the Sunny 16 Rule. Anyway, There was some great feedback about it on the Hog and even some Amazon links. I was on the verge of ordering one but didn't. It came back to mind today and I looked in my Amazon Wish List expecting to find it there and it wasn't. Can anyone recall the details including the links? I did a search on this forum and couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Here's a "sneak peak" shot with my Nikon P520 bridge camera. Barcelona was our destination for the maiden voyage of the new Royal Princess sailing from London in June of 2013. There are many beautiful sights in Barcelona but don't miss the Catedral de La Familia.

Here are my rookie efforts:

This is great stuff. I went to download the video with IDM (Internet Download Manager) and I now get a confusing choice. Instead of just one file to select, there are now three or four and they say video only or audio only. There is also a "select all" but it does the same thing. Anyway, instead of getting the video you thought you were going to get (and used to get under an older version of IDM) you now get separate files that are worthless. Does anyone else use this program for internet video downloads and if so, do you know how to work with the new version? Or is there something better out there?

How cool is that? My wife is a retired Amtrak chef. I can't wait to share this with her because of her love for trains.

U R right. I think it's because more and more people just want the best price (in this stagnant economy) and hope to figure it out on their own. The "mom & pops" of the world will fade like dinosaurs. So sad but so true...

A) A "box store" or "super store" is where you get only the best price and a cheerful (?) refund if it doesn't work out.

B) A "camera store" is where you give up a little on the price to gain support and advice after the sale.

Initially I was drawn to "A" but as I get older and realize how little I know, I gravitate toward "B".

It's a choice that depends on what's important to you as an individual photographer. If you are an expert, go with "A", novice go with "B".

This is news? Does that mean that from 1936 to 2014, everything was okay? Wow, and I thought Barack Obama took a long time to make a decision.

That's the exact camera I own and my store recommended the Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS. I am thrilled with the combination. I had asked for one walk-around lens and I feel like I made the right choice.

I am new to this and need some advise. Own a Nikon D5200 and want to up grade to one lenses with more capability than the ones that came with the camera. I see recommendations and estimated cost. When I look up that recommendation I find several lenses at a wide range of prices. While price is a factor it is not the controlling one. can some one help me on this issue.

Perform crop.
Click your mouse into the empty background with magic wand selection tool. Use paint bucket to fill background with color of choice.

I have a Nikon D5200 and I use the Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS (For Nikon AF D). This was on the recommendation of my camera shop and I am pleased with the results. Sigma is good for the weight, price, and compatibility. All I wanted was a walk-around one-lens solution and I have found it.
