Received this from my friend Ron.
He has something great to say.

Beautiful video. When I was quite young, I got to lay in the starboard position of Boom Operator while on a Boeing Production Flight Test flight out of Renton, and flying over the Olympic Mountains and Cascades for a couple hours before landing at Boeing Field in Seattle. That view is the most spectacular that I’ve ever seen and I will never forget it. -Ron

I think this B2 video is fantastic. And to think we developed the B2 in secret and didn't spend 15 years 'trying to get it right' like the F-35.

Whenever I add anything into my Macbook Pro it asks for a password. That is always the password I used to log onto my computer.
Try that.

Wouldn't it fit be more appropriate if Hoggers had 'T' shirts made with their Avartar on the front or back??

I would suggest you only consider Porro prism as they seem to me to give the best view with the superior light gathering capability.
That said, I use Nikon 10x40s for viewing wildlife near my home. Very good optics.

The Nikons combine great and fast focus with light weight.
I agree with Apaflo, anything bigger than 10x is difficult to use when walking around. If I had it to over again I would buy 10x50 Nikons (if they make them) as during the early morning and evening their light gathering capability would be better than the 10x40s.

The best slow motion video of pollination I have ever seen. Hope you enjoy it too.

During a vacation my wife and I went into an Ikea store in Carson, California. While there we spoke to a local lady who said that most every person she knew who shopped at Ikea had realized the frustration of walking thru the whole store to buy one or two items.
They then realized they should go into the store thru the out aisle and avoid the normal store routing. They found what they wanted and avoided the long walk past items which prompted impulse buying. They then took the fast way out by crossing to the out aisles at each level.
Sounded like good advice to me.

A lawyer calls home to talk to his wife, and the maid answers the phone.

"Where's my wife?"

"She's upstairs in bed with another man."

"I'll pay you $100,000 and get you safely out of the country if you find my gun and kill them both. I'llstay on the line while you do it."

"Si, Senor."

He hears two shots, then thump, thump, thump, thump, splash, thump, thump, thump, thump, splash.

The maid comes back to the phone, "I did it."

"What did you do?"

"I killed them both, and dumped their bodies in the pool."

"What pool? Is this 555-3624?"

Job Appraisals From Hell!

From an email that was making the rounds:
For everyone who has ever received or given an evaluation or have been through a professional appraisal, just remember, it could have been worse! These are actual quotes taken from Federal Government employee performance evaluations...

Since my last report, this employee has reached rock- bottom and has started to dig.
I would not allow this employee to breed.
This employee is really not so much of a has-been, but more of a definite won't be.
Works well when under constant supervision and cornered like a rat in a trap.
When she opens her mouth, it seems that it is only to change feet.
This young lady has delusions of adequacy.
He sets low personal standards and then consistently fails to achieve them.
This employee is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot.
This employee should go far, and the sooner he starts, the better.
Got a full 6-pack, but lacks the plastic thingy to hold it all together.
A gross ignoramus -- 144 times worse than an ordinary ignoramus.
He doesn't have ulcers, but he's a carrier.
He's been working with glue too much.
He would argue with a signpost.
He brings a lot of joy whenever he leaves the room.
When his IQ reaches 50, he should sell.
If you see two people talking and one looks bored, he's the other one.
A photographic memory but with the lens cover glued on.
A prime candidate for natural de-selection.
Donated his brain to science before he was done using it.
Gates are down, the lights are flashing, but the train isn't coming.
He's got two brains cells, one is lost and the other is out looking for it.
If he were any more stupid, he'd have to be watered twice a week.
If you give him a penny for his thoughts, you'd get change.
If you stand close enough to him, you can hear the ocean.
It's hard to believe he beat out 1,000,000 other sperm.
One neuron short of a synapse.
Some drink from the fountain of knowledge; he only gargled.
Takes him 2 hours to watch '60-minutes'.
The wheel is turning, but the hamster is dead.

Try dealing with the Federal employees in the FAA and you'll find little if any REAL evaluations. As the saying goes, Warm and fog a mirror so we'll promote them.

I was lucky to see him perform at the 1986 Juneteenth celebration at the Dallas convention center. He did 2 sets and sat up on a raised chair in the middle of the floor and just 'entertained' Of course many of the people had their 'red dresses on' along with their 'high heeled sneakers' just dancing to his sounds. Boy, he was a presence that everyone enjoyed.

RIP.....BB.

I turn off everything unless it has to stay on - like the freezer. Not to save money but to reduce the risk of fire caused by faulty electrics. As a unit fire NCO when in the army I saw some examples of fires caused by seemingly innocuous items when left switched on.

A good thing to do Remus. I had never thought of turning things off when idle until I was making coffee one day and found the grinder to be warm on one side. That was before I had used it. Seems that there is something inside that stays warm. Now I unplug that darn thing after grinding the beans every day just to be safe.
I like Jerrys idea of using a measurement system to see what units consume the most juice. I've always heard it was the refrigerator.

A very detailed video of the innards of the Space station.
Can anyone identify the cameras and lenses seen in the video at about the 17.50 minute time frame?

newer oil carrying ships supposedly have to have double hulls to protect against the (easy)? type of oil spills that happened in the recent past.
Why not the same standard for pipelines?
I have to say, any pipeline that lasted since the 50s was built to a high standard for that time.
We have a natural gas pipeline along side Hwy 97 here in Oregon that runs 24/7 without a problem I'm aware of.
How can we get 'factual' information on pipeline construction and rules for their use. Without an 'in depth' study/analysis by an independent agency like the NTSB, we are getting what the oil companies and government want and that is an uneducated public.
