Hi Bill Unfortunately the other cameras have different couplings (the 850 has 10 pins, the d7100s have the four pin version) Hope it is the shutterbuddy with the problem otherwise, it gets expensive through Nikon USA.

Thank you for your response.

You are correct in your assumptions. I was unable to make the vello work either with its' basic shutter release does not work and neither do the other functions. The 850 has a more complicated wiring than the other models but I did suspect that is where the issues are. Hopefully the new one works and a trip to Nikon will not be necessary.

I have two other copies used for years with my other cameras without issues.

Thank you again for your response.

I am headed to a Nation Park which should have perfect skies for star shots. Got out my equipment to practice last night D850 and Shutterbuddy Remote and it seemed to work correctly - I need practice but the equipment was working. Reviewed my shots and determined I was the problem and headed out today to verify. The remote trigger would not work. It is the wired version and something had changed between last night and this afternoon. Each piece of equipment seemed to work correctly but would not work together. Reviewing options for repaid before I leave and there are really not any that would work. Spoke to a guy at B&H and he said it was probably the shutter buddy. Ordered a new one up for quick delivery.

First, a compliment to B&H about the speed of their response and being available. With the number of camera stores dwindling, it is nice to have a go to place.

Second, a question, has anyone else experienced this and what were the results?

For some reason, B&H does not collect Missouri Taxes. They were very good at Illinois Tax but I guess Missouri has not done what needs to be done yet. Amazon collect here but not all of the time.

Google Vegas Movie Studio. I use the Pro Version but the Movie Studio version can probably take care of your problem. I could not find a trial offer but there is usually one available. Base price of $50 - $60 with different packages available.

I had two d7100s that served well.

Kind of an off the wall suggestion but watching the shadow on the west side disappear as the sun come up is an interesting site we enjoyed during one of our visits. I forget the specifics and do not have any pictures taken (it was probably 1986 or 1987 and of course all I had was my Pentax ME Super film camera. Have a good trip, the tickets are a new thing as others have said. but we did have to pass through a ranger station when I was there 10 or so years ago. Again, have a good trip. There is also a great flower (Protea) farm on the way down in Kula. If not directly on the road down, look it up, not far away and worth the trip. Especially if you like Macro flower shots.

I agree with you fully, spend what you are comfortable for that gives you the results you like. I upgraded cameras last year and tried to give my d7100s to my daughters. They both declined in favor of their phones. I saw the shots from my daughter's new iPhone last night and it was much better than my camera. But I will take credit for teaching her style and composition - unfortunately no, she is the artist and designer

How long did you make the presentation and did you do it in segments or the whole thing at once? Sounds like a fun project.

B&H also sent out a message to customers a couple of weeks ago informing them of the requirement. The Wayfair ruling also impacted many beyond the internet retailers and allows states to implement these rules on everyone shipping product into the respective state. I work for a company that manufactures tile and delivers nationwide. It appears that even though we will not have a physical presence in most states or even a connection via an employee that lives there, we will have to begin collecting and remitting sales or use tax to 46 different states. This puts a huge burden on many companies and increases total cost to consumers but it does benefit the states and hopefully can revive local businesses.

They do add to your abilities but I have found (many others have not) that my flexibility and sharpness go down. The F Stop needs to be higher and it seems less sharp to me. Have not used it with my 28-300 which I also use much of the time but that has been my experience with my other main lens - a 200-500. Both are also used on my 850. Good luck and keep us posted about your results if you do decide to get one.

Best of Luck Jim. I have been volunteering as a video guy for a bunch of years and I am looking forward to retirement to volunteer even more and include my photo hobby into the mix as well.

Most importantly, have a lot of fun doing what you want when you want.
