Sunset over Key Largo, Florida Keys.

There are many places from where sunsets and sunrises can be photographed along the Florida Keys since there is not a significant distance between the waters of the Gulf of Mexico (Biscayne Bay) and those of the Atlantic Ocean. In many parts of the keys it is a simple 5 minutes walk between both coasts.
I spent the day yesterday in Tavernier Key, about 7 miles south from Key Largo. It was busy for this time of year with lots of traffic. Key West is famous for its sunsets and I have photographed them in the past but it is not my favorite place to photograph them in the Florida Keys, there are many other places along the Florida Keys where sunsets are spectacular. One of my favorites, where I return often is upper Key Largo by the Caribbean Bar, mile marker 104 overlooking the bay. In this place a movie called "Key Largo" was filmed in 1948 with the main actor being Humphrey Bogart. People meet here near sunset to have a beer, watch the sunset and chat.
I have been there many times before with absolutely gorgeous weather but this time there was a storm and I was shooting under a very light rain, hand held with my Olympus EM-10 Mk II fitted with a Panasonic 14-45 kit lens. Neither camera or lens are waterproof and still I had no issues although I do not recommend that you do what I did. I was protecting the camera keeping it close to my body under my shirt. As soon as I got to my car I wiped off the slightly wet camera and went back home and kept it in a dry place. Next morning it was still working like a champ.
I have never experienced there more dramatic skies for sunsets than those I experienced that evening.

Yes, those are beautiful shots!
I'm wondering if you have ever captured a green flash that will sometimes appear for a second or less immediately after the sun dips below the horizon. It is best seen when looking across water. Very seldom has that phenomena ever been photographed when looking out over land.
