Thanks for the info photo friends. Actually I used 2 alien bee 800,s. One on camera left 3 feet away. The other on camera right about five feet away. After review I realized subject was facing the wrong way. That's the reason for shadow by the left eye. I'm definitely still learning.

I placed the strobe in between 2 and 3 feet from subject. it was still daylight but my backyard was a little dark because it is surrounded by high
trees..after a few shots I gave up and changed settings only to still get a dark background. recovered the background in PP. this is what I got.
hope you can view it.

ok. tried the high speed sinc today. I was trying to shoot wide open at f2.8 with a 200 shutter speed. I was outside in my back yard
7:00 ish. still day light..my subject was exposed perfectly but the background which was trees about 15 or 20 feet back was solid black.
im new at this kind of thing but was wanting to try it. I was able to bring the background up with the shadows slider in lightroom but
just like to know what made the back ground go black other than the shutter being to high. thanks for your help.

can someone tell me the difference between the tamron 70-200 2.8 vc from japan vs the same one that you can get from adaroma camera. there is a 5 or 6 hundred dollar difference between the 2. I hear it is a warranty thing..is that so? im thinking of purchasing on for myself. thanks photo friends...

hey photo friends..i am beginning to have pictures made for people. this week I will be doing a graduation shoot and want to know the best way to show all of the photos to my client without having to look at a tiny screen on the back of the camera. I have been using wix.com but don't see the option for creating such a thing. how can I create a website just for clients to view their pictures?...thanks for any help.

thanks folks.. I didn't make it clear when I was talking about a one pole setup. there are some extension poles used for hanging a back drop that will allow you to hang 3 or 4 backdrops at one time. hanging one at a time is sufficient for me especially since I will be using it on location. sorry I didn't clear that up earlier. thanks for all of the suggestions as well.

hello photo friends..i am in the market for a heavy duty backdrop stand. a single pole stand that goes at least 10 feet high. I have a cheap one now that even the weight of the back drop will make it fall over..any ideas on where to get a decent stand without breaking the bank? something similar to paul c. buff light stands that I have since they are heavy duty. but they don't have backdrop stands. thanks inadvance for your suggestions and comments.
