hey photo friends..i am beginning to have pictures made for people. this week I will be doing a graduation shoot and want to know the best way to show all of the photos to my client without having to look at a tiny screen on the back of the camera. I have been using wix.com but don't see the option for creating such a thing. how can I create a website just for clients to view their pictures?...thanks for any help.

Try Dropbox. It has a freeware version and a pay version. You can create shareable folders that only the people you want to see the photos can use. If they do not have the program they can sign up for free. Their is a phone app also.

Smugmug.com. Lots of customizable options.

You'll even get a discount off of your first years subscription if you use another smugmug members website when signing up. My site can be found by clicking on my user name.

Does it have to be online? There are tons of good on the fly picture website creators you can copy onto a thumbdrive.

Congrulations on having customers who value your work!

Several suggestions have been made re other options, but just looking at the wix.com website, it would seem that you need to select the Photography template and then make a unique page for the graduation shoot.

Hi,

I have 6 Shutterfly sites for that same purpose, but I do not use it professionally - just with friends, relatives, teammates, ... To share images with others, I email them a link to the album. You can also create a membership list. Check it out. It's easy to use and their support is very good. Smugmug is similar. If you want to see one or more of my sites/albums to see how it works, send me a PM. I'll send you a link(s).

Are you being compensated for your work? If so, are you being paid for the entire "job", or by the pictures purchased?

Another place is Shootproof.com. Up to 100 photos is totally free forever and you can delete them or some, and put up others.

I have use that in the past and found it very good to use. You can set the price from zero to whatever you decide. (Probably should use it more.)

I agree! I have a zenfolio site where I keep my best work (and also use for proofing because I already have it) but if you just want a site for proofing then I do recommend Shootproof.

It was a shameless plug, I'll admit :-). But I have been extremely happy with smugmug since I started using them in 2007.
