Slowly getting rid of all my paper subscriptions and going all digital. Don't get a NEWS paper any more, don't need many magazines. It all becomes stacks of unused paper in the end. RSS subscriptions and Google takes care of it all.

The times they are-ah defendantly changin'.

The Nikon WiFi app for you android phone allows you to set up an adhoc (stand alone) connection between the android phone and the WU-1a adapter that you plug into your camera. No hot spot or WiFi router needed. I have a Nikon D3200 and it works great. The app lets your remotely control the shutter, remotely view through the camera lens and send the picture to your phone after you snap the shutter. The app is available from the Android store. I think this app works for most of the Nikon WiFi cameras. I don't know about other brands.

I am confused with the procedure of transferring a photo from a wi-fi camera to a android phone. Correct me if I am mistaken, but I would need a wi-fi connection to do it? I know, it sounds like a dumb question. I am capable of using my phone as hot spot.. So that is the way it is done? Any other options?

I think is more a question of air space safety that a question of freedom of the press. As noted by other responders, I see a lot of these drones flying around very recklessly loaded with camera and stuff. A lot of these operators seem to have not respect for the safety of people and property on the ground. The FAA needs to tighten up the regulations on this aircraft type and start getting people trained and licensed. And fine the violators. Do we really want "Drone" paparazzi ? I don't particularity want some yahoo crashing into my house or injuring someone ground. Or even worst colliding with another aircraft and causing a air disaster.

A drone operator who got footage of tornado damage in Arkansas might be fined $10,000 by the FAA. Several operators could also be fined if the FAA decides to go ahead with this. Freedom of the press comes into play here, and the laws are vague. News like this is going to hurt the drone industry.

Sam,
Back in 1965 or so, I was growing up around Randolph AFB, in Texas , we use to see a lot of T-28 flights. They were training those Laotian and Vietnamese pilots there at the time. Several of my friend's fathers were instructor pilots.

PS. The sound of the group of P-47s was awesome.

Very nice! I've seen the German planes you mention, but unfortunately they were either in the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum in OH or the Smithsonian in DC. I HAVE seen quite a few WWII/Korean War/Vietnam birds fly at various EAA air shows either in Oshkosh or Lakeland, FL. Enjoyed that immensely.
I flew in the C-54 Cargomaster fr TX to MS and back one weekend in 1971, and then a couple of flights in the F-4D Phantom while in Northern Thailand during the war - memories forever! Flew Cessna C152s and Cherokee Warriors for a few years here in SC, 95-03.
Boy I bet that group of P-47s you mentioned sounded awesome!
Hey, pse share more pics when you attend future events like this. Thanks so much for sharing these!
Oh yeah, I see a T-28 in there - Laotian pilots flew these out of Udorn while I was there in 72-73, used them for light ground support in South Vietnam.
Very nice! I've seen the German planes you mentio... (show quote)

Yea, I am kind of spoiled out here in So Cal. I guess there is an Air Show at the Chino, Ca Airport this weekend. They have one of the best static display of vintage War Birds in the country, especially a lot of the Luftwaffe planes, ME262, Comet, BF-109, Folke wulf 190. None of those appear to fly. There was a pack (5 or 6) of P-47 Thunderbolts heading home last night around 5 PM. Did not have the camera out or ready, so I missed that money shot. Also missed the B-25 leaving. I did get a flight of 3 P-51s, flighting in single file headed home. They were screaming along at maybe 350 knots or so at 1000 ft. They were going so fast I only had time to focus on one aircraft and even then I only got to shoot 10 frames or so before they were gone. There is a B-24 Liberator and B-17 Flying Fortress in the area, but I have not gotten a chance to take pictures.

Nice shots SpaceCowboy369! I sure wish I'd see them flying over my back yard. I normally have to drive down to Titusville to see something like that! :D

I found these guys flying around in my backyard today. They made several passes at about 700 - 1000 ft. Love the roar of the high performance engines.

Shooting with a Nikon D3200 and the 55-200 mm zoom.

I guess the next round is on you tbohon, as it was clearly not a C-17. LOL.

That's a C-17 ... fatter body than the venerable C-141. Too bad we can't see the tail - a tall 'T' tail would positively identify it but I'll bet my USAF retired paycheck it's a C-17.

Both the C-17 and C-141 have high wings. (Mounted on the top of the fuselage) This planes wings are on the bottom of the fuselage. Probably an Airbus.

I was thinking much the same thing. It reminds me of a C141 Starlifter although the paint job isn't what I would normally expect.

Searcher nailed it.

Now if you don't want Light Room as you default photo browser and don't want to clutter your desktop with a lot of shortcut icons, "Right" click on the program file or short cut icon on the desk top. The select "Pin to Start Menu" from the drop down menu. This will place a shortcut in the Start Menu that comes up when you left click the "Start" button. You can next "Right" click back on the desktop icon and Select "Delete" to remove the short from your desktop. I prefer my program icons be located on the Start Menu or the Tool Bar (at the bottom) and I try to leave my desktop uncluttered.
