The fifth is the Cadillac Flying Lady, but I don't have a good photo of that one. Thanks for the compliment John.

My hands are large enough that most x-large gloves are still to tight. But I love my Olympus EM-1 :-)

I bought an army surplus machete for clearing some brush on camping trips. It was dull, but I got permission from the shop teacher to bring it in to Jr high school and sharpen it. I carried it all day (in a sheath) between classes with no problems or questions by any of the teachers. Try that today :-)

I'm an amateur photographer and have the EM1 and EM1 MkII. My wife and I do a lot of hiking and the smaller lighter weight of the Olympus is much appreciated after I sold my Nikon D800. The photos are very sharp. At a night photo tour in Arches Nat'l Park, the instructor said he "might" be able to see a little more noise in my Oly milky way photos compared to those taken with my rented Nikon D750. Olympus Image Stabilization is beyond comprehension: I've taken hand held shots at 1 second and can't see any blur at maximum magnification. Check out the "Pro capture mode, as well as in-camera focus blend and HGR. They work wonderfully as does the 'live composite.' The Olympus 'Pro' lenses are just wonderful and amazingly weatherproof. The many reviews of the 'pro' lenses rate them very highly and I concur.

Beautiful photo Dave! I am sure the Tamron is a great lens (much better than the Tokina), but at $1,200 and on a D7100 (the OP camera), not sure that would fit with the OPs budget nor would it give the 35mm equivalent POV of the Tamron on a full frame. A Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 (almost the equivalent of the Tamron on a full frame body) is $380.

Thanks for the nice comment. The OP didn't mention any budgetary limits and did mention the thought of going for a D750. Thus my suggestion of what I had used. Actually, I rented the camera and lens :-)

Milky way with Nikon D750, Tamron 15-30mm, f/2.8, Di VC USD. I was very pleased with the Tamron.

Get Olympus Tough, TG5 or TG6. Waterproof to 50? ft, good for snorkeling, great macro mode, sharp photos.

Thanks Darkroom317, I hadn't seen those. It's interesting how sneaky some folks can be. It is all interesting but not in my budget range :-)

In menu 'C2'> bracketing>on>Focus BKT>on>Focus Stacking>on>OK,OK,OK,OK
In the menu, keep using the 'right' of the multi selector. Somewhat confusing but don't 'left' click to go back, use the 'OK' to choose everything going back. It did take me a while to figure it out :-) Cheers.

Actually, the 12-100 pro does do focus stacking on the EM1 MKII. Check to see that the firmware is updated for both the camera and the lens. The EM1 MKII most recent firmware version is 3.1 while the 12-100 pro's is 1.3. Both numbers will show up when you access the 'firmware' on the menu of the camera when the lens is attached. I've got that camera and lens and just tried the focus stacking.

At Arches Nat'l Park I was told the rule is 'no light painting.' That makes a lot of sense when there are numerous photographers trying to get a good photograph. If I'm taking a long exposure to get star trails, my shot will be ruined by multiple people 'light painting' over the course of my exposure. So PLEASE, don't practice any light painting. That is the rule to follow!
