I have a Sony A7R mk2. I am at a loss to understand the procedure used to download the Apps Sony offers. if someone has mastered the way I would appreciate a step by step description. If not, then does anyone know a U.S.A. phone number that will get me to a Sony Rep. Many thanks, Zing

I have been there three times and on the second trip I hired an Indian native guide. He is also a great photographer and will take you to places you cannot enter alone. I searched for his name but cannot find it. However, at Gouldings (the place to stay) or the main tourist center I am sure they will be able to place you in good hands. Be sure to take warm clothing, the mornings are really cold.Zing

I might be interested in the body only. I presume it has the 2 batteries and the charger, plus all of the other items commonly included in the box for the camera. my offer would be $2500. payable as you would specify. I would pay the express shipping charges thru Fedex. Zing

I keep getting pop up ads from 42nd St. Photo that provides the great prices for the Sony a7Rmk2 and the Fe lenses. They are all gray market, w/o U.S. warranty. Has anyone made the purchase and if so did the camera or lenses come as new and in excellent working order. Zing

You did not mention Sony by name. I will. I am an interested buyer of a Sony a7r Mk2 - a gray market model sold in the U.S.A. It comes without a U.S. warranty and maybe without an operating manual printed in English. The items I want sell for a discount of 20% and have a warranty by the seller only. As a wary buyer I called Sony and asked this question: Are all Sony a7r Mk2 cameras imported into the United States and sold as gray market cameras, the identical camera as those sold with the Sony U.S. warranty. The answer was YES.

B & H sells Sony FE lenses for the A series . They told me they occasionally sell gray market lenses without warranty - but it is identical to the same lens sold with a warranty.(I did not ask the price they want for gray market lenses, so the above stated 20% discount does not apply to what B&H may charge for their lenses.

So, the punch line is - is a 20% discount for expensive gear worth the "risk" buying a very reputable brand camera and lens without a warranty. Thanks for you article, well done. Zing

I just opened Amazon looking at Sony lenses for the sony a7rii. They are advertising and selling gray market lenses (so stated and without sony warranty). Responses from questions about gray market are that the product is identical to that coming with a sony u.s. warranty, execepting the warranty is not included and sometimes the instructions are in a foreign language.

Many thanks for all of the comments. This company is the "real thing". I think the savings is well worth any risk of malfunction that may occur down the road. I'll let you know in a year or so.

I came across a company in New Jersey - "Deals all Year" selling Sony A7rii for about 20% discount. The same discount on Sony fe lenses. They are rated 100% by e-bay and they accept PayPal as well as sending you an invoice detailing the purchase before you buy. These are gray market items without Sony U.S. warranties. They do sell a 3 year policy for all eventualities for $249. and the repair station is an authorized dealership in New Jersey. Sounds very good. Anyone have opinions?? Has anyone done business with these people? Will appreciate help in making a decision. Many thanks, Zing444

I have been there a couple of times and you are in for a thrill. Call the chamber of commerce and ask for a map of the roads between farms. There are miles of roads and on each side is another site for photographs. Without the road maps you will have a difficult time finding the barns and lonely trees, etc. Steptoe is another place you want to visit to get a pan. view of the entire area. Best to go there at sunset. Have a great time. Zing

I just completed a sale of canon camera and lenses. They valued just about what I thought it would be and their check was sent promptly. I would have no reservation doing business with them.

I have a Sony Nex7. It is a great camera. However, the menu system is terrible and at my age (89) I require cheat cards to remember how to change settings, etc. My question is: would a Sony A7ii be a easier camera for me. It incorporates several functions on wheels clearly marked. Reviews are terrific, etc. I will appreciate your input. Don

I spent four days at Bandon, Oregon and it is spectacular. Give it as much time as possible. It is far better than to spend time at Canon Beach, which has some good subjects, but, no where does it compare to Bandon. The Palouse is fantastic as well and I would advise you to get the maps that take you into the farm roads where the best pictures can be taken. Have a great time. Zing
