I have a Sony Nex7. It is a great camera. However, the menu system is terrible and at my age (89) I require cheat cards to remember how to change settings, etc. My question is: would a Sony A7ii be a easier camera for me. It incorporates several functions on wheels clearly marked. Reviews are terrific, etc. I will appreciate your input. Don
Suggest you get one in your hands and look at it for yourself. Only YOU can determine how easy it will be for YOU.
If you don't have any stores around to look at one, you could look into renting one for a few days/week. This will be the BEST way for you to determine the ease of it.
I'd agree with renting.
I hear Fuji (xt-1) has a great menu system...perhaps give them a try.
I've owned both. The A7ii's menu system is easy to use (that certainly cannot be said about the NEX system) and the buttons and dials on the camera can all be customized to whatever function you desire. I have mine set up such that I hardly ever have to look at a menu while shooting. As with most modern cameras it will take a couple of weeks of shooting around the house before you are completely comfortable with the camera. I'm in my middle 70s and am familiar with having to carry cheat cards, however with the A7ii the cards stay home now. In short, everything you like about the NEX 7 will still be there on the A7ii and everything you dislike will just be a bad memory.
I have a Sony a7R. I believe you would find it much more difficult to set up/change than your NEX 7. Also, the a7 series is a FF camera; you would need to get Sony's E-series full-frame lenses, which were very limited and very expensive when I bought my a7R.

I have both a Nex-7, and an RX-10. The RX-10 has the same menu system as the A7 series. In truth, I have grown to like the Nex-7 menu better, as it has (or seems to have) a more direct and less involved architecture. Some of your problem with the menu may be a tad of forgetfullness, and that will not change if you get a new camera. I am over 20 years your junior, and I forget all the time. There is one better camera than the Nex-7 for APS-C size sensor, and that is the A6000. However that camera's live view has half the resolution of the Nex-7. So it is a compromise. Stay with the Nex-7, and buy a new lens to enjoy!
