I am having a VERY hard time deciding on a new camera. I don't want a DSLR because I don't want to have to deal with multiple lenses in different situations, so I have been thinking of a bridge camera like the Canon SX50 or Panasonic FZ200 or waiting to see the Fuji SL1000. But what I am really interested in is the best image quality in a camera that has a decent zoom range. It doesn't have to be a mega-zoom like 50x. What is the best image quality camera in a non-DSLR?
I am undecided: I want a superzoom and have settled on the Canon sx50 as far as current models in release, but know that Fuji is coming out with the SL 1000 and has the HS 50. Should I get the sx50 or wait? And which is better - the SL 1000 (which is considerably cheaper than the hs50) or the hs50? Why is the hs50 so expensive?
Just when I thought I was settled on the Canon SX50, I saw that Fuji has come out with the SL1000. 16 mp & 50X zoom. Does anyone know about this camera? Has it been released? Any initial impressions?
I am looking to buy a "super-zoom" Bridge Camera and have essentially narrowed the field to the Canon sx50 (12 mp; 50x zoom) or the Nikon P510 (16 mp; 42x zoom). Does anyone have experience with both and have a recommendation? Is there a difference between shutter response speed? Image quality? I do not need RAW.
I was ready to buy a canon sx50 but read some user reviews that said the slow shutter speed response was so problematic that many good shots were lost. I like to take candid and spontaneous photos and a slow shutter response time could be a disqualifier...thoughts? P510 vs SX 50? RAW is not an issue for me...
I am thinking of getting a superzoom camera (Canon SX50 - 12 mp, 50x zoom). But, since I do most of my photo editing on the computer, I wonder if getting a more compact camera (easier to carry and use more often) with higher megapixels (16 instead of 12) might be better since I could crop rather than zoom and retain picture quality?
