Yes it is there, very fine engrave. I have to use my loup (the one we used to inspect slide films in the old time) . W/o the tip, well who would think of that?
Thanks

Besides from my AI, AIs lenses, I cannot find the SN on my 85mm f/1.8D AF, 105mm Micro AF f/2.8D and many other film area AF lenses. Help, thanks
28mm f/2.8 AI, 50mm AF f/1.8D, 85mm AF f/1.8D, 85mm AF f/1.8D, 105 AF Micro f/2.8D, 105mm f/2.5 AI, 135 mm f/2.8 AIS (one in queue 200mm f/4 AI)
I did twice all fine from Japan. Only buy near MINT.

When I first got my DSLR I got suckered into one of the accessery packages. It included a Vivitar teleconverter that you screwed on the the filter threads. It was pure garbage !! Nothing better than a big blur !! But the wide angle add on was more or less effective. Still, one big waste of money.
The one you screw on in front of your lens like a filter is a 1x, 2x ... close-up filter. A cheap add on your lens to get close up (to replace a Macro/Micro lens).

What do you all think of teleconverters? I have read that using one causes a loss of sharpness. Has anyone noticed that? or have any pictures to compare?
Thanks.
I have Kenko N-AFd 1.5X teleplus SHQ, use on D7100, with Nikkor 75-210mm AF d, 75-300mm AF...
AF is quick, no loosen speed, sharpness (?, nothing I see), at 210mm, 300mm. Note that both lenses' lower f stop are f/5.6 (x1.5 = 8.4) but they all AF fine.
I tested it on all my lenses, AI, AIs, AF, AFd, AFS. All work fine. All my lenses' rear lens does not touch the lens element of the Kenko converter when focus (checked before mounting)
Well, clear that a crop sensor is good for wildlife, and a FF is better for portrait photography.
get a Nikkor 105 mm f/2 DC , a great lens for your D5. I have Micro 105mm f/2.8D, 105 mm AI f/2.5. Love them
This Tokina has good review and better $$$ : Tokina AF 12-28mm f/4 AT-X 124 Pro DX II (Nikon F)[quote=whwiden]Nikon 10-20mm afp. $250

What is a good all around Lense to walk around with a d7500 that is not super expensive? I have the kit lenses but want something better. Thanks in advance.
How about a cheap Nikkor, but sharp, the Nikkor AF 28-85 mm f/3.5-4.5. I bough the lens in 1995 after a test report from Popular photography. I use it on my D7100 . Walk around all day and feel nothing. It can take low light thanks to modern DSLR ISO, D7100 can get up to 1600. D7500 is far better with ISO.
yes, specially with AI, AIS lense, AF with auto ISO...

I have been using PtGUI panorama software, but I find that it has some limitations and I understand there are many other programs that offer much more at a reasonable price. I would appreciate comments from those who have a had a change to evaluate other brands before I embark in purchasing a new license. Thank you.

Here's lots of info about cleaning your sensor. Read this thoroughly (it's easy to do damage, if you don't do the job correctly)....

Point to something solid colored, you can be out of focus- in fact it's better. You'll see the same pattern of spots - in sharp focus. THis is your proof of what they are. You can clean it yourself... it is not a big deal, just get a hand blower, and a kit and a viewer, follow the directions to a tee... and look for a youtube video and watch a bunch of differnt videos of people doing this..just to get familiar with it.
....unless you are not handy, then pay someone to do it. However, in most all cases, you'll be more careful then the majority of people you find behind the desk.
