Someone posted "New Wife" Photo so...Old Wife. I wanted to try a portrait so I used natural light, on camera flash and a second flash off to the right. Any suggestions?

If you use a MAC computer, you can set up a simple $100 HD and the MAC automatically backs up, incrementally, everything every hour. (Time Machine)

Also well to note, new MAC's no longer have a disk drive so those who are backing up to a disk may, at some point, have no effective way to get to them outside of a DVD player. For those a USB stick might be better.

Try Blurb.com. Lots of layout control, good quality with choices and quick.

New Nikon D750 with FX 28-300mm lens. Would a doubler be a recommended accessory for the occasional long shot?

Tamron makes a similar lens in both DX and FX formats...but right now, if you buy the D750 you get the Nikon FX 28-300mm for $200 off, or about the same price as the Tamron.

Thanks to MMC and Rickxxxx:

You set the AE/AF button to ON. I had found the earlier list that MMC sent the link to, but it was not clear to me since his list didn't spell it out in the summary.

Thanks to you both..

Not clear how to use this. The D750 has no AF ON button, only a single button AE AF lock. As set now, I push the normal shutter release half way, then AE/AF lock and it locks the focus point. Should it be set so I push AE/AF button first to select the focus, and then the shutter release just to "release"? If yes, which setting?

I have had mine almost a month. No ISO problem; in fact I have never shot so much at ISO=100.

Second comment: you have to get into Nikon website but I remember the body is purposefully lighter, by using some Carbon Fiber laminate. I think they also claim it is tougher.

Manual focus? How did you get them so sharp. Great!

I know you ruled out the 28--300 mm BUT...
I had a variety of good lenses, split much like you on a D300. I bought a Tamron 17-270 and found I didn't pull the others out of the bag. So, I bought a D750 on the first day, and the Nikon 28-300 mm lens...happy camper. I am now in the process of selling all the other equipment. The 28-300 seems to do it all and the D750.

Not quite. My iMac 27 (which is great for photo work) does have several slots you can do your own memory in--up to 32 mb. There must be 4 slots, because it came with two slots of 4 and I added two slots of 8's to bring it up to 24.
