Nikon D610 vs D750

Hello UHH Friends -

Am considering Nikon FX alternatives - specifically the D610 vs the D750. SnapSort suggests they are both pretty close. Not many used D750s yet so cost is $2,297. One dealer has a D610 refurb in stock for $1,440. Is the D750 worth the nearly $860 (60%) difference?

For general-purpose use, I'm considering a Nikon 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens - available used for $1,030, tho I wish it had macro capability like the Sigma 18-300mm (except the Sigma seems to be only for DX format cameras). Sigh.

Still image quality is pretty much identical between the two. The D750 does have phenomenal video and several small upgrades over the D610, including the rear flip screen LCD. If those mean a lot to you then definitely get the D750. If they do not, then the D610 is a bargain right now at $1799 new.

Hello UHH Friends - br br Am considering Nikon FX... (show quote)

If you buy the d750 kit it comes with the 24-120 lens for 2995. It basically makes the lense $700. I bought this because the low light focusing is what I found that I wanted. I know only what I read about the d610, but the d750 is just what I was looking for.

Tamron makes a similar lens in both DX and FX formats...but right now, if you buy the D750 you get the Nikon FX 28-300mm for $200 off, or about the same price as the Tamron.
