Has anybody had as much trouble setting up and keeping it set as I have when trying to use the SB5000 flash unit with a D500? I could not get it work so went to the local camera shop and after clicking around the camera menu found a setting that I had missed. Great. Took it home, tried it out and worked fine. Planned to use it tomorrow, put it all together with the WR-R10 of course, and nothing works. It is supposed to require pairing only once but now it says "No response". Total frustration so just get my old SB800 and go with that and try not to throw the 5000 up against the wall!
Different strokes for different folks. Hope you can run fast when you snap off a shot of a lovely lady as her mate quietly walks up behind you. Eh?
I was there a couple of months ago. Used a Nikon d500 with a Tamron 16-300. With the crop factor that's 450 on the front end. I had a 1.4 and 2.0 extender but I never needed to use them. Most of the animals don't care if the vehicle comes close, we were within 5-10 feet of all of the big 5 except the Rino and Hippo. There the 450 was used. I posted pictures if you wish to look for them. Lots of fun, best trip I've ever had and I've been around for 80 years.
Thanks to all even if I did misspell the location!
It is the season to post some inflight crane shots. From their wintering grounds in New Mexico, about 20 miles south of Socorro. Also some snow geese that mix in with the cranes. It's fun to watch them turn into the wind, gear down, flaps down and aim for the ground. The snow goose is all lined up for a landing also. Finally, end of the day. Nikon d500 Tamron 150-600 ISO and shutter all over the place as the light changed.
I wonder who writes the manuals, or more specific, who translates the manuals to English. I've got a Ph.d. in engineering and sometimes I have trouble following what is written in the manuals. I suppose that's why there is an after market "How To" books. But I still haven't found where it says the updates should be made to the "primary" card. Guess I've got a blind spot for the word "primary". Oh well.
After trying to update my D500 with two different computers and failed both times, I decided to try using the XQD card instead of the SD card. By chance I pulled the XQD to transfer the update to it and looked at the camera and lo and behold it now said "update". No where did the instructions say to remove the XQD card to update with the SD card but that's what it took to get the job done.
So I guess it isn't me, who would expect a big company like Nikon to sell something that wasn't there. HA!
We have an 800 gallon fish pond and put out seed. They are here quite often just caught him at the right time.
This fellow hops on the fence and calls his friends to come for breakfast.
Thanks for the replies. I had clicked on the main photography discussion and it wound up here. (the heading says it is the MPD) I've downloaded the app and attempted to follow their directions. Guess I don't really need that feature anyway.
I have a D500 which has installed Wi-Fi and supposed to have Snapbridge. I've read various places that the camera doesn't have the software installed to use Snapbridge and maybe that's why I can't get it to work. Nor can I get the Wi-Fi to connect to my iPhone or iPad since to me the instructions are off in left field somewhere. Or maybe I am. Anybody seen any good instructions on connecting Wi-Fi or what the true word is on using Snapbridge. Thanks
Thanks for the replys, I've messed around with focus stacking when I could get a tripod to the location. It's all fun so I just try something else!
