I have a D500 which has installed Wi-Fi and supposed to have Snapbridge. I've read various places that the camera doesn't have the software installed to use Snapbridge and maybe that's why I can't get it to work. Nor can I get the Wi-Fi to connect to my iPhone or iPad since to me the instructions are off in left field somewhere. Or maybe I am. Anybody seen any good instructions on connecting Wi-Fi or what the true word is on using Snapbridge. Thanks
I beleve snapbridge uses bluetooth.

This needs to be posted in main photography discussion for better traffic regarding your question. I have a D750 and I understand your frustration w/wifi. You have to download the Nikon WMU app on your device. Download the Manual Viewer app then the manual for the D500. Try following the instructions. If you have an IPhone x-out all the Android stuff and vice-versa. This will help eliminate the confusion. Once you get the wifi signal activated in the camera you go to your device wifi settings and select Nikon D500 to get them to pair. Then go to the WMU app and select photos to select picture you want to transfer. Hope this helps. Sorry I can't offer anything on Snapbridge-don't have it.

Nikon is being sued over this issue if I recall correctly.

Nikon has not released a Snapbridge app for iPhone or iOS yet. There were reports the Nikon is working with Apple to make it work.
Thanks for the replies. I had clicked on the main photography discussion and it wound up here. (the heading says it is the MPD) I've downloaded the app and attempted to follow their directions. Guess I don't really need that feature anyway.
Make sure snapbridge has permission to turn on your Bluetooth. I believe you have to turn snapbridge on in the menu the first time you want to use it. On one end of the body is a small square symbol, I think on right end I don't have the camera with me. Start the app and touch the phone to the camera on the square and hold it there. They need to be touching the first time after that they don't seem to. I've played with it when I first got the camera but not since. I also have an Android phone.

Snapbridge is not compatable with IPhone or IPad yet. They say they are working to solve this, but no date as to when it will be corrected.

SnapBridge uses Bluetooth. Is currently available for only the Android phones, not IOS, i.e.' iPhone. The IPhone version is suppose to be available summer 2016. And summer is almost over. Nikon is being sued in Europe somewhere over this issue. And they will be in the US, unless they get a very functional SnapBridge out soon.
So I guess it isn't me, who would expect a big company like Nikon to sell something that wasn't there. HA!

Snapbridge works great, just only on android. Why it doesn't work on iphone is anybody's guess, but those that are saying that it doesn't work are wrong it works great. I use it all the time on my Samsung phone.
IPhone version of the app is now available.
